Seasons Fall to their Deaths One After the Next

The seasons fall to their deaths one after the next. The voice that hails the end of life slips into the wind.
A sober man wanders through the colorful city streets. To gaze upon the moon from here is in such poor taste.

I’m living a life with my feet sinking into mud. The rain falling onto my face tastes like alcohol.
Strolling through the city, my eyes all glazed over, I’m just a man at the station taken for a criminal.

Honestly, I’m not sure that I’m even myself anymore. It feels like I’m nothing but a shadow come to life.
If I sing beneath the rain, will the clouds give way for me? The busy summertime is home to such a stale and dry life.

To my condemnable past, I offer up to you a song to burn our bridge.
I don’t care if it’s the last song that I ever sing, even if I’m left with nothing but all these horrid memories and dreams.
And after generations, blossoms shall offer you a song to bring change.
I don’t care if I suffer, drowning in my own sorrow, or even if there’s no more sun to shine down on this endless song of mine.

Tomorrows fall to their deaths one after the next. However hard we chase after, they’re now yesterdays.
Live without stopping for once lit life will last for but a moment. Only after the light’s turned out does the meaning of life come.

Honestly, I get it if you don’t think you’re you anymore. Steeped in insecurities, you can’t help but hate yourself.
But maybe if you just sing, darkness will give way to light. Putrid as our dreams may be, they still delivered life to us.

Wearing my old ragged face, dragging my legs behind me, I squint my eyes against the sun, its rays bouncing all around.
I don’t know what I should do. Should I go forward or head back? As I finish the question, I feel my legs move on their own.
That’s right, there’s nothing left but forward. Even if I’ve no reason, I will choose to keep living.
We’re all just like these lives picked up from the ground below. The least we can do is leave them right here where they are.

To my long forgotten past, I offer up to you a song of what was.
The closer that I thought my horrid memories and my equally horrid dreams still were to me, the further I found they’d become.
Sooner or later flowers will always return to the circle of life.
I don’t care if I suffer, drowning in my own sorrow, or even if there’s no more sun to shine down on this endless song of mine.

The seasons spring into life one after the next.
