Lament ( la Douleur)

You lament the loss
The pain that no mother should've known
Veiled in the sorrow, you weep,
And tears slide anew when rain is wind blown.
You left us speechless
Shivering, heart aching, feeling your grief
That's like a story you were telling
And tears slide anew when soul moans.

you can find many photos on Internet searching for: Montmartre douleur -
Jacqueline Didsbury sculpture on the loss of her son. I couldn't find any other references for her work and info I found wasn't reliable. I shall search more.

Do whatever you want with my translations.
They no more belong to me than the air I breathe.

Thanks, Pierre!
I really can't find any info on her as a sculptor. Dates also make little sense. If you can find anything, please link. Thanks in advance.

There seems to be more written about her in English than French.
I couldn't find anything on her beside this particular sculpture.
I can give you the full text written on the grave, but it's a rather typical grave inscription.
That's about it, I'm afraid.

edit: 1910-1995 are the dates of a daughter of hers, being born the same year her son died. Talk about a symbolic burden...
