Let's think about the future

We’re just in the middle of
Enjoying ourselves or something like that
I’m just dreading the moment
When you’ll put your head on my shoulder
When you’ll murmur

“Let’s think about the future babe
Let’s think about the future
Let’s think about the future babe”

You came down to do the shopping
You seem tiny seen from here
I’m just dreading the moment
When you’ll push open the door
With you smile fixed in place to say to me

“Let’s think about the future babe
Let’s think about the future
Let’s think about the future babe”

It’s always me who reaches out to silence
This damned alarm clock
I’m just dreading the morning
When it’s you who’ll switch it off

“When I’ll snatch you from your sleep”

“Let’s think about the future babe
Let’s think about the future
Let’s think about the future babe
Let’s think about the future”

I watch you channel-hopping and the stations zip by
Nothing can snatch that light from your face
I’m just dreading the moment when the telly stops
When you’ll take off your glasses before sobbing

“Let’s think about the future babe
Let’s think about the future
Let’s think about the future babe
Let’s think about the future”

C'est moi qui tends toujours le bras / Sur ce fichu réveil -> more like "reach out to this blasted alarm clock", I would say.
The metaphor is quite good actually, even if the rest of the song seems forgettable to me.

toute petite -> why not "tiny"? ("toute petite" sounds kind of cute in French, like a china doll or something)

There are a couple of conjugation errors in the original lyrics, btw (moi qui tends / Tu es descendue).

Ha - I was beginning to think it was an alarm clock! :-)

Made those corrections, it makes much more sense now thanks.

Yes, I thought the tenses were a bit erratic...

:-)
