Senhor Sapateiro

Senhor sapateiro,
cosa o meu sapato.
Não posso calçá-lo,
está estragado.

"Sim, senhor, vou arranjar,
eu já estou a martelar.
Sim, senhor, vou arranjar,
eu já estou a martelar."

Senhor cozinheiro,
dê-me uma sopinha.
Não posso cantar,
dói-me a barriguinha.

"Sim, senhor, vou arranjar,
aqui estou para lhe dar.
Sim, senhor, vou arranjar,
aqui estou para lhe dar."

Senhor jardineiro,
dê-me uma rosinha.
Quero uma jarra
com ela fresquinha.

"Sim, senhor, vou arranjar,
aqui estou para lhe dar.
Sim, senhor, vou arranjar,
aqui estou para lhe dar."

Presumably for kids to learn how to ask for things.
The inclusion of "Sim, senhor" (lit. "Yes sir") seems a bit odd from the three grownups' points as they're talking to children, and not superiors.

Mr Cook,
please make me some soup.
I can't sing
because my belly hurts.

here I am to give it to you.

here I am to give it to you."

Mr Gardener,
please give me a little rose.
I want a jar
with its fresh smell.
