The Minstrel's Curse

Once upon a time there was a king, rich in land and victories,
He sat on his throne dark and pale.
What he muses is horror, what he looks at is anger,
What he speaks is scourge, what he writes is blood.

Once a noble pair of singers moved to this castle,
One black curls, the other gray hair.
The gray man said to the boy, "Be ready, my son,
Play the best songs, tune to the fullest! "

It's raining, it's raining,
It is raining the minstrel curse. (2x)

The two singers play in the high column hall.
On the throne sits the royal couple.
The king as splendid as bloody north,
The queen as sweet as the sunshine.

They sing about Spring, love, [and] holiness.
She melted in sadness, lust was also there.
"You blinded my people, are you asking [for] my wife?"
The king screams angrily, he shakes all over.

It's raining, it's raining
It rains the minstrel's curse (2x)

The king's sword flashing pierces the young man's chest.
Instead of the golden songs now a blood jet jumps.
The boy has gone to sleep in his Master's arm.
Then the old man screams scary, the marble hall shatters:

"You damn murderer, you curse the bandmates
All your hand wringing will be in vain, stained with blood your doing!
The king's name says no songs, no stories.
Sunken and forgotten - that's the Minstrel's curse! "

It's raining, it's raining,
It is raining the minstrel's curse. (2x)
