The same

My friends heard about the life I lead.
Where people were wainting for me, I didn't come.
If I mix them up, if I bother them
It's because I'm a jumble, a mixture.
I'm too complicated, I won't ever choose
Between the two sides, don't ask me
Where I wanna go, even monkeys ape the wise men
And these wise one have created compartment in which they put us away

Eh, eh, aye, aye
Aye, aye, aye
If I bother you, well, it's the same1
If I bother you, well, it's the same
Eh, eh, aye, aye
Aye, aye, aye
If I bother you, well, it's the same
If I bother you, well, it's the same

We take boxes, we put people in it, but without ever understanding them
Like Men are made of a thousand of boxes, those boxes wet take are never large enough
I followed thousands of paths, (I) shook thousands of hands
One can love Brel and Megui, even love our enemies
I'm too complicated, I'll never fit
In your little boxes, I live from day to day
So I zigzag with my black glasses
I hear people wondering "When will the mask fall ?"

Eh, eh, aye, aye
Aye, aye, aye
If I bother you, well, it's the same
If I bother you, well, it's the same
Eh, eh, aye, aye
Aye, aye, aye
If I bother you, well, it's the same
If I bother you, well, it's the same

You entered my life, oh, cherished liberty
Life is desire, desire before recommendation
You entered my life, oh, cherished liberty
Life is desire, desire before recommendation
Eh, eh, aye, aye
Aye, aye, aye
If I bother you, well, it's the same
If I bother you, well, it's the same

Eh, eh, aye, aye
Aye, aye, aye
If I bother you, well, it's the same
If I bother you, well, it's the same
Eh, eh, aye, aye
Aye, aye, aye
If I bother you, well, it's the same
If I bother you, well, it's the same

  • 1. "c'est la même" is an idiom, word by word it's "it's the same", implied that it won't change the mind of the author : if people are bothered, the author doesn't feel concerned( +- "I don't care").

Some suggestions:

=======

"If I mix them up, I bother them"

You should add another "if" after the comma, otherwise it sounds like "to bother them" is a consequence of "mixing them up", when it's not that (because there's another "si" in the original too).

"It's because I'm a jumble, a mixing."

The last word would be better as "mixture", as "un mélange" is a noun in this case, not a verb.

"Where I wanna go, even monkeys ape the wise men
And these wise one have created compartment in which they put us away"

Notice how you used "wise men" and then "wise one" right after to translate the same word. This is not consistent. Also, the second sentence doesn't sound entirely accurate to me. I would translate it as: "And these wise *men* have created *compartments* in which *to* put us away".

"If I bother you, well, it's the same"

You created a translator's note to explain "c'est la même", but you could just translate it as "if I bother you, well, I don't really care". This way you won't need the translator's note. If you want to translate it more literally, you could do it as "it's all the same to me" instead, which also kind of means "I don't care".

I won't continue revising the lyrics without knowing if you will actually read this comment. Reply to this message and I'll revise the rest of the lyrics, ok?

"Like Men are made of boxes" -> should be "a thousand" boxes.

"shaked thousand of hands" -> should be "shook", it's an irregular verb.

"ennemies" has only one N.

"One can love Brel and Megui, even love its ennemies" -> the "its" should be "our", since the original is "nos".

"You entered my live" -> should be "life".
