The Night Kiosk

The neighbor’s flip-flops
Are worn out on the concrete.
I want to get into a fight,
But there’s no one around.
On the rusty doors,
There are cigarettes’ burns,
Take your time, sobriety!
Don’t come so fast, dawn!
So, shine, the moon, shine, even though there’s only one spectator,
And there’s only one destination, the opened store.

I went out of the house
In someone else’s coat.
The unknown neighborhood,
The wrong neighborhood.
Here, everyone is silent,
Here, everyone is sad.
All beer has been sold out
In the night kiosk.

Hey, look, in the alley,
There’s a passer-by who’s drunk, too.
The windows are staring at me,
And they know that I’m
Going
Not into the store at all,
And I’ve got a lot of secrets,
But there’s only one listener.
And we smell like catnip and fresh leaves,
Like AliExpress and goods from the cheap store.
So, shine, the street light, shine for us, spend all your kerosene;
Turn the lights on for us, the tram; burn us, the shop windows’ shine.

I went out of the house
In someone else’s coat.
The unknown neighborhood,
The wrong neighborhood.
Here, everyone is silent,
Here, everyone is sad.
All beer has been sold out
In the night kiosk.

I went out of the house
In someone else’s coat.
The unknown neighborhood,
The wrong neighborhood.
Here, everyone is silent,
Here, everyone is sad.
All beer has been sold out
In the night kiosk.

Are worn out on concrete, rather than because of... Only one spectator. In the alley...
