Skerumst í tvennt
So Icelandic has this weird mediopassive voice, in this case a reflexive form. As such this line literally translates as Cut ourselves in two
Oh yes, I have only recently learned that!
But in this case I have a problem with creating a text that colloquial in English... in some cases I'd say I can mess around with the synonymous meanings, but I don't have a very deep understanding of this yet.
Any suggestions?
Here are a couple that are not technically wrong but as a native speaker I would have translate differently
Mig langar bara gleyma þér => I just want to forget you
Bæti fyrir það sem mig langar að gleyma => Atone for that which I want to forget
Núna langar mig að gleyma þér, þér, þér => Right now I want to forget you, you, you

Corrections (as I made sense of them while translating)
Skerumst í tvemt -> Skerumst í tvennt (tvennur - in two, in half)
Ég hélt inni andananum -> Ég hélt inni andanum (andi - breath, andanum þgf fleirtala)
Edit: I added it to the wrong place at first
