I wasn’t familiar with this song, which is why it’s so interesting. I just looked it up but couldn’t find the earlier version. But I love Egyptian music and culture from the 1960s so I’m pretty sure I would like the original. 😻

How did I miss this? Thank you! I absolutely LOVE it!! Simsimiyya is such a beautiful tradition. Hamza’s remix with the Bambutiyya musicians is one of my favorite episodes of the whole series.

Yes! Featuring the band El Tanboura. I think the singer is Sayed Azam. Do you know them? They have hours of wonderful videos on YouTube. I particularly like that song “Min Port Said lel Ismailia.” Here’s a link to it. https://youtu.be/R9AmqJdIqDg (I wish I could make out all the lyrics..hint hint 😉)
