Desde un margen que existe...

Desde un margen que existe
de un mundo que no existe
decir una palabra que existe
sobre algo que ni existe ni no existe.

Tal vez esa palabra y ese margen
puedan crear el mundo
que debió sostenerlos.

From the edge of a world…

Versions: #1#2#3
From the edge that exists
of a world that doesn’t exist
say a word that exists
about something that neither exists nor it doesn't exist.

Maybe that word and that edge
can create the world
that could bear you.

Szerző észrevételei:

I don’t know why deber was used in the past tense. For me it should have been debería. Debió makes no sense in this context.

This translation is almost literal. I only allowed myself to change a bit the meaning of some lines, as what I had written seemed to me more logical than the original.

I like literal. If one isn't certain of the language, it is most helpful.

Take out typo in the first line.

Thanks, I overlooked I had that twice - even twice.

Anyway, I made some slight changes a while ago.

I was close to deleting my translation, but I thought for while about this poem and I came to the conclusion that it's rather better not to interpret it too much, otherwise its style gets lost. Mind you, I usually interpret everything very strongly, but here it's better not to do it.

It would have been a mistake to delete it - I'm glad you didn't.

Okay, I made again a few corrections and I'm pretty happy with the result. I think it's the final version.
