Knee To Knee

In front of our house, a river pours into the sea
I wish we got old, my love, with you, knee to knee*
At the branch of black fruit (cherry laurel) white flowers blossomed
No benefit from this love, seems like we've wasted all that time

I wasn't a high mountain but I was surrounded by clouds
My loved one understands me, oh, and I understand my loved one
The boat comes from far away, lost in the waves
Even before we meet, my god wrote seperation for us

Don't play sorrowfully, oh my kemençe*, my heart is already wounded
What kind of a seperation is this, is my fate always bad?
At the waterside of Civran, there is a harbour
Don't look me in eyes, I can't handle it and I cry

I wasn't a high mountain but I was surrounded by clouds
My loved one understands me, oh, and I understand my loved one
The boat comes from far away, mixed with the waves
Even before we meet, my god wrote seperation for us
