The Moron and The Lightning

Versions: #1#2#3
Rumbling in the sky
The lightning's flashing in the night
And on a hill, a madman stands and cries out:
"I'm gonna catch you in my bag
And you will shine inside of it
Oh, how I wish for you to become my own!"

He keeps on running to the woods
Then to the field and the stream
As he keeps on trying
To catch the lightning!

The townspeople
Came out to watch it all unfold
How a madman was running around on the top of the hill
He seems to be out of his mind
Seems his enemy is himself
What a moron, who'd think up something like that?!

He keeps on running to the woods
Then to the field and the stream
As he keeps on trying
To catch the lightning!

Morning came on the streets of the town
As our night hero slowly walks on
His hair all white and a mess
A smile on his lips...

He keeps on running to the woods
Then to the field and the stream
As he keeps on trying
To catch the lightning!
