عن جدّة عقبة فالح طه -- قراوة بني زيد (قضاء رام الله). أغنية فلسطينية تعود على الأرجح إلى فترة الثورة الفلسطينية على الانتداب البريطاني في السنوات ما بين 1936 و1939. وقد كانت النساء يغنينها تعبيرًا عمّا يُخالِطهُنّ من لوعة وحزن على فَقْد أزواجهنّ أو أبنائهنّ. يَظهَر في هذه الأغنية المشهد المؤلم لتلك النساء اللّواتي كنَّ يَنتظرنَ عودة الثُّوّار من الحرب. وقد كان مُتّبعًا أن يَأخُذ المحارب سلاحَ رفيقه المقتول ويعود به إلى أهله (عادة إلى زوجته أو إلى ابنه البكر) للاحتفاظ به، ومن هنا تأتي كلمات الأغنية «طلّت البارودة والسّبع ما طلّ، يا بوز البارودة من دمّو مبتلّ»، للدلالة على مقتل المحارب الذي خضّبتْ دماؤه سلاحَه. وفي هذه الأغنية تُخاطِب المرأة أيضًا الفرس «الأصيلة» التي لأصالتها تعود إلى بيت المحارب بعد استشهاده.

This song dates back to the Palestinian revolt against the British Mandate (1936-1939). Women used to sing this song as an expression of their anguish and grief over losing their husbands and sons. The song also depicts the sorrowful and painful scene of women waiting for the return of their men from war. According to tradition, a surviving warrior would take the weapons of his dead comrades and return them to his family (usually wife or firstborn). The lyrics of the song include: "The rifle has shown itself but the 'lion' has not/The barrel of the rifle is wet with his blood." These words signify the death of the warrior. Additionally, women sing about the loyalty of the thoroughbred horse that returns to the home of the fallen soldier
