The hours fly by as a diving falcon

Each man's feelings of deepened love and loss

Those dearest souls whose world I share

The tears flow from the heart on our parting

Just as on our reunion and they are of pure joy

It is said that new places beget new friends

How true it is, but the old are always with me

Those whom I have wronged perhaps will forgive

Amends I make and shall continue onward*

My deepest sin I believe is not showing my appreciation

I guess it was my nature, perhaps they understand

Each has taught me something of themselves and myself

I am thankful for having the opportunity to know them

When I die then I will be gone, and I will see

He that has blessed my path so

Then perhaps when they come to call

That celestial palace won't be so strange

There is nothing greater than a friend to be with

If I never have a big house, a beautiful car, or wealth

That won't matter for I still have them

In praise of friends whether with me or not

Perhaps in a far off land talking to a new friend

Speaking of a friend from back home

The new friend knows my admiration for he has friends too

And though he never has met them he feels for them

Asking of their health and listening with intensity

Male and female, of varying colour, sizes, and age

Each one like a stroke of brilliant colour

The colour in my life, a painting in my heart

When they feel joy so do I, and in their pain

A relationship of much giving and little taking

The day grows old and I grow weary

But on thinking of them a strength seizes me

Today they say the world is dissolving

I say this is untrue for in such a large world...

I have found the dearest of mankind
