Voy a contarles la triste historia
de un negro crimen tal como fue,
en Dallas, Tejas; el veinticuatro
del mes de julio '73.
 
Una criatura perdió la vida
entre las manos de un criminal,
de un policía que su trabajo
es cuidar la vida de los demás.
 
Santos Rodríguez este fue el nombre

I'm going to tell you the sad story
of a dark crime as it happened
in Dallas Texas on the 24th
of the month of July, 1973.
 
A child lost his life
at the hand of a criminal,
at the hand of a policeman
whose job is to care for the lives of others.
 
Santos Rodríguez, this was the name
of the kid with miserable luck,
who didn't think that that morning
was his last one.
 
Officers arrested both
he and his brother in their home,
as suspects of robbing
a nearby business.
 
The poor boy was handcuffed
and a gun was placed at his head,

of having committed that robbery.
 
A shot rang out and the little body
of the poor boy fell dead,
and at the sight of what he did
in desperation the policeman cried out to God.
 
The policeman who smeared his
name in vain with blood was Darrell Cain,
