Because of that Man
(T I T O) That man, didn't want to hurt you
(B R E N D A) (He doesn't want to admit it)
(T I T O) Don't hold a grudge against him, understand him.
(B R E N D A) (I'll try)
(T I T O) That man, just came to fill
The enormous void that your love left in her.
(V I C T O R) I know I made a lot of mistakes,
I forsook so many things,
But she knew
That I couldn't live
Without her love
(T I T O) You have to forget her,
Even if it hurts you
Maybe now that she's by his side
She's happy now
Try to comprehend it!
I know your feelings very well,
but I'm gonna tell you
What she said to me:
(B R E N D A) "Tell him that I'm very well now
That after so many years
Of solitude
I'd never be able
to come back to him"
(V I C T O R) Convince her!
(T I T O) I can't do that!
(V I C T O R) Convince her!
(B R E N D A) "Tell him that it's better off this way
That there's finally someone
Who thinks of me now,
That has enough time for me
And shows me love"
(V I C T O R) I know he lied to her!
(T I T O) Why are you talking like that?
(V I C T O R) I know he lied to her!
(T I T O) That man,
You can see that he loves her
I've seen her, she has changed so much
She's much better now
You know that
And that's why it hurts you
That he has put in her life
A new hope
(V I C T O R) If I could talk to him
I know that he'd understand
I would have him know
That she's with him
Just because of her pain
(B R E N D A) "Don't fool yourself
She doesn't want you anymore
Life just gives you
One chance
Accept it!"
(T I T O) Even if I know what you feel
I have to tell you
What she said to me:
(B R E N D A) "Tell him that I'm happy now
(T I T O) Yeah, yeah
(B R E N D A) That sometimes it's too embarrassing
To look back
But I'm not afraid
I want to live"
(V I C T O R) How could she change so much?
(T I T O) She's tired of you!
(V I C T O R) How could she change so much?
(CHORUS) Tell him that I'm happy now
That sometimes it's too embarrassing to look back
(B R E N D A) That there's somebody needing my love
And with the little things he has made me better
He doesn't do anything but love me
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(T I T O) He didn't want to hurt you
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(T I T O) Don't hold a grudge to him!
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(V I C T O R) If the damage is already done
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(V I C T O R) What's the point of asking for forgiveness?
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(B R E N D A) He's the only one who makes me feel
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(B R E N D A) All the things I never felt with you!
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(T I T O) Repeat it, accept it
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(T I T O) Just understand it once and for all!
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(C H O R U S) (That man)
(B R E N D A) "Tell him that today I've fallen in love again
That someone finally
needs my love
That with very little things
he has made me better".
(VICTOR) That man stole her from me,
(TITO) It wasn't his fault!
(VICTOR) THAT MAN STOLE HER FROM ME!
(T I T O) That man
Didn't want to hurt you
Don't hold a grudge against him
Understand him.
(B R E N D A) (I'll try)
(T I T O) Don't you ever doubt it
He's your friend, and he appreciates you,
Because that man
That man... Is me.

This salsa song is actually a cover of a pop ballad made for three singers! It was originally sung in the 80's by the famous Man-Woman duo Pimpinela with another famous singer of the time called Dyango.
Just like all of Pimpinela's greatest hits it's a very theatrical and dramatic song; in which one man (Tito Nieves) tries to console and calm down his best friend (Victor Manuelle) over the latter's former girlfriend (Brenda Starr) leaving him and eventually falling in love with another man.The first four lines of the song serve as the dialogue of two scenarios: Tito trying to console Brenda just after she and Victor broke up, and Tito saying those words again, now to calm Victor down, telling him not to hold any grudges against Brenda's new lover. The rest of the song focuses just on the discussion between the two male friends. At the end of the song, Tito reveals that Brenda's new lover is actually himself.
