Hi :) This song is based on Romeo and Juliet:

[@silenced] Pierre, is it yours?
[@lt] could you add a collaborator if this isn't Pierre's?

Thanks. It was definitely Pierre’s
This would not qualify somehow, under strict rulles?

I guess "A time for us" lyrics would be an adaptation and Shakespeare is not really there any more, the relation is only through music...
You would have to pull the original lyrics from the movie...
But if you are asked, what melody you most strongly associate with Romeo & Juliet, then unless you are core ballet lover and know Prokofiev
really well, that would be it, right?
Does this count? It's kind of meta, but it does mention Romeo and Juliet. https://lyricstranslate.com/en/fink-shakespeare-lyrics.html
Just transcribed https://lyricstranslate.com/en/peter-wilson-duet-sean-smith-verona-lyric... which would fit too!
What a great idea for a collection! :D (The kind one wishes one would have thought of oneself... ;) )
Looking through the list, I was wondering whether you'd include actual works by Shakespeare set to music, and then I found Sonnet 29. Personally, I prefer Rufus Wainwright's take on it though: https://youtu.be/ngk4sRQ2C-Y
As you probably know, Iron Maiden have a song called "Ides of March" too, but since it's instrumental it's not on LT. :P
