so here's the thing. I made many collections lately.
i do them mostly without help and its a lot of work.
Now i made this Collection: "Songs that make fun of Asians". and added like 5 or 6 songs.
hoping others would contribute and help the collection to grow.

Now the nanny laws of lyricstranslate have swung in full effect and it got unpublished.
the Reason: the list insults asians ! but here's the problem. if the songs in the list are offensive
why are they on here at all. if they violate rule no 1, you cannot offend anyone due to
nationality, sexual orientation, blabla, why are the songs onboard, if they are offensive.

I wish people would start a list about Songs that make fun of
germans, americans, russians or the bloody french.

of course the list had to get reported by "anonymous user"..

are we already living in a socialist world ? how is lyricstranslate gonna survive
if it censors everything left and right. this is just plain stupid. sorry.

Everyone has to read the site rules when joining LT and follow the rules. Your collection breaks the rules and that's why it got unpublished.

I checked the html file you posted, and our Mod stated in the comment that they are discussing about the existence of those lyrics you posted already. This can be the answer to your question.

The thing is that such lists would insult quite a lot of people and are very disrespectful. Not everyone can (in fact I think most can't) be comfortable when their country/race get insulted. LT tries to create a friendly environment that is dedicated to language and translating lovers, rather than political arguments or racist jokes. If you have such wish, why not switch to another site?

It is not about socialism or capitalism, nor about left or right. It is simply the rule of this site and a question of respect.

I say, Mark, it's not about the Admins being crazy, it's about somebody not being smart enough to understand that most of the songs you wanted in your collection make fun of national stereotypes.

If you had named your collection like "Let's have fun of those national/ethnic/religious stereotypes some stupids impose on us to prevent us from being one friendly world community" you would have had a bunch of followers and contributors.

My suggestions for your further collections^^

Let's make fun of Russian editors
Let's make fun of German mods
Let's make fun of Ukrainian admins
Let's make fun of Asian/Gay/Muslim/ etc. users.
Let's make fun of LT, the cradle of dictatorship.

No need to create "Let's make fun of St.Mark" because you're a joke already :)

Your collection had been reported by someone (they didn't even write to me, it was another staff member). Four Mods participated in a discussion and we decided it was not allowed.

Admins do not participate in this. They actually rely on us to take care of issues - unless something goes way out of hand.

I received a notice that my own collection was sort of threatened if I don’t change its description. Naturally, I was immediately defensive, but here is my take:
1. Collection should not be offensive nor insulting to the nationality, race, sexual orientation, gender — hence, Mark’s issue.
It is not censorship, but reasonable way to conduct ourselves.

2. Collections that are of political nature cannot be censored.
I can hate collection about Stalin, but user who created it has the right to it and I can only voice my objectIons.
My own collection dedicated to Trump was here for over two years and I was somewhat shocked as to the demand to change its description. However, I read it after I cooled down, and reviewed it objectively - this resulted in the removal of the verse that while totally appropriate, must have been shocking to the people that accept everything Trump says.
Then, I thought maybe it was reviewed from the fairness to Mark’s collections. And if I want to be civil, I don’t need to quote the extreme. I chose to be civil.

You know my position, it was russian soldiers and citizens of every ethnicity that saved us from further genocide in wwII.
Stalin ordered to shoot his own if they fell back, and killed millions of innocents during his reign.
We can discuss this in more detail, but on a separate forum where we can debate.
I’m interested in making a collection of poets, composers, and performers, not to mention their families and friends, that fell victim to Stalin’s repression. It becomes obvious the horror that was inflicted.

Please don’t take a word out of context. It was skillfully demonstrated how easy it is to hurt feelings so just consider what those mocked in those songs would feel. You are plenty smart to find good and useful collections to make that would do you justice. I have a wonderful one started, but don’t have enough time - maybe you can PM and discuss it? Lol, I’m afraid you’ll do it in half an hour whereas I spent hours looking for the first 10 entries...

I'm not pissing on people unless they think its kinky, and ask me to do it.
I posted a collection of songs that make fun of asians. some of these
get sung in Kindergarden all over the world. if you find that's offensive
then you might wanna start riots or write a letter to your minister of culture.
others get blared from the loudspeakers in mallorca every week at top volume.
do you think that's offensive too ? well it might be to some. but then money rules.
and blaring that music makes some people money. so it is allowed.

just like lyricstranslate. the owners of the website don't show their face. their location.
but act through middle men. and have an agenda that they push through, like some sort
of third world dictator. everything that doesn't fit their narrative, gets mobbed, removed.
censored. it's laughable really how everyone plays along. nobody seems to notice or care.
