אֱ = Eh sound. Listen to how he sings it.

And that is exactly what I'm doing Moshe. And to my ear, it sounds way closer to "a" in apple than to the sound of any English "e" at the beginning of any English word. Are we supposed to follow some formal rules or to the actual typical sound?
Here pretty often folks transliterate Hebrew ח as ch which makes no sense to the majority of people on Earth with the possible exception of Polish speakers...
It's not e like in English or east. it's like the eh sound in red. Google a חטף סגול
however its definitely not ah.
I have no idea what eh or ah means or "in red". I know what I hear. My assumption is that the whole purpose of having this field is то give the whole world of non-Hebrew speakers an idea of how it sounds - to approximate the Hebrew sound with how that "constructed" word would typically sound in American English as the dominant language with this alphabet. And it sounds much closer to apple. If that was transliterated to the Russian alphabet the appropriate letter would have been "э" and not "е" or "и"- the closest sounds to English "e".

Hi Igor,
The transliteration should be Emuna, אֱמוּנָה. Can you fix please?
Thank you,
~Moshe
