Fire

Every morning, same as the one before
You lie in bed and stare out the window
Ghosts in your head
Just where do they come from?
Your doubts hang on the steering wheel
The fear from the future overtakes the moment and nothing's changed
A life in circles.

But there's this fire, burning in you
You change direction
You wish for something new to happen
Headed towards your destiny, not wasting too many words
There's still so much till the end of the world
and a fire burns in you.

There's this fire, burning in you
You change direction
You wish for something new to happen
Headed towards your destiny, not wasting too many words
There's still so much till the end of the world
and a fire burns in you.

Every morning, same as the one before
A daily routine you've been ignoring
drags its thread through your calendar
The next year is getting closer
As your glass was half full,
the nights - long and the days - precious,
you tripped somewhere
and never found the way again.

But there's this fire, burning in you
You change direction
You wish for something new to happen
Headed towards your destiny, not wasting too many words
There's still so much till the end of the world
and a fire burns in you.

Then this fire is burning in you
You change direction
You wish for something new to happen
Headed towards your destiny, not wasting too many words
There's still so much till the end of the world
and a fire burns in you.

Then a fire is burning in you
There's still so much till the end of the world
and it burns, a fire, fire, fire in you.

Not too bad as a translation.
Some suggestions:

>"Deinem Schicksal entgegen, nicht zu viele Worte verlieren." =
Headed towards your destiny, not losing too many words

>"Ein Alltag, den Du längst verdrängt hast,
zieht sich durch Deinen Kalender." =
A daily routine you've been ignoring
drags its thread through your calendar (days)

I'm not entirely sold on the idea of "losing words". It sounds more like he's speechless, repeatedly(as in, lost for words). While "Worte verlieren" is more the, ammm, opposite of that? Unless there's some meaning I'm overlooking, I'm sticking with "wasting".
Edit: After the 2nd cup of coffee, I'm thinking about "not speaking too much" as an option.

Rest, yeah, me likey. Sometimes I forget how to sense during the night and weird things come out of my keyboard xD

Wait, wouldn't "Deinem Schicksal entgegen" mean that you are going against your destiny, challenging it? "Towards" implies embracing it.

True ... "losing words" maybe doesn't make too much sense in English ... ?
"wasting" is fine and a good translation.

"Deinem Schicksal entgegen" means indeed something more like "embracing it".
There is some fatalism in it.
You are facing something that is prepared for you and you have to deal with it, whatever it is.

Facing something is not the same as embracing it though. But it's mostly the context of the song that makes me question towards vs against. It seems, at least to me, that the destiny would be the boring, day-to-day life that the protagonist wants to escape. This version implies the opposite, that the change is the real destiny. Song meanings are too hard *sigh*

PS: I asked my British friend and he agreed that if he were to say he's "losing words" it'd be a variation on "lost for words"(speechless) while "Worte verlieren" is, I believe, the opposite, it's a desire to speak. Or, in this case, not wanting to say too much. I kind of picture that line as the protagonist facing his destiny like in one of those Western movies, quiet and determined to win. But that might be because "Man in charge" keeps playing in my head every time I look at these lyrics and it's messing with my perception of what's actually happening here.

I have listened to the song closely now.
It is about someone who is bored with his life and his desire to "set out and sail to distant shores" unknown to him yet.

Lyrics corrected:

>"und es brennt Dein Feuer in Dir." =
und es brennt ein Feuer in Dir.
