My Dug Well

Versioni: #1#2
I'm screaming at nothingness, hear my voice.
Upset the one who loves you, follow the order of the way things just work.
You can't dig it, my well's already dug.
Am I water* that
I should take these up*?

But the one in front of me is not seeing me.
My soul's caught fire, it's not being put out.
I'm spinning, my world doesn't.
Whom should I curse at?
Whom should I attack ?

You weren't the one to stay,
you weren't the one to leave,
you weren't the one to
smile at me for once.
I'm the one that stayed.

You've become the one that left
By the looks of it,
I understand that I'll just run out** of myself at this rate.
You weren't the one to stay,
you weren't the one to leave,
you weren't the one to
smile at me for once.
I'm the one that stayed.
You're the one that left.
By the looks of it,
At this rate I'll be ruined, do you understand?

I shouted out at you for countless times,
without saying your name.
I got sentimental, I got dirty
without asking for anything.
Regret is old style now.
Without me having to say it,
come back, come back, come back
come back, come back, come back.

You weren't the one to stay,
you weren't the one to leave,
you weren't the one to
smile at me for once.
I'm the one that stayed.
You're the one that left.
By the looks of it,
I understand that I'll run out of myself at this rate.

You weren't the one to stay,
you weren't the one to leave,
you weren't the one to
smile at me for once.
I'm the one that stayed.
You're the one that left.
By the looks of it,
I will run out of me at this rate, do you understand me?

Grazie!

*Kaldırmak has 3 meanings in Turkish
1) To lift something up(as water's lifting force)
2) to take something to endure something. Taking pain and somehow managing to endure it, managing to take it.

So he is saying he isn't water so he can't endure all this. He'll be crushed under the weight of problems. He says he doesn't have lifting force that the water has so he can't take overbearing weights of the world

3) to put something away (but it's not used in this sense in the song. Only number 1 and number 2 meanings of kaldırmak have been used in the song)

**Bitmek normally means to finish. But in this sense it's used as run out of something or to be ruined. Biterim: I'll be ruined / I run out of me. It's deep. Running out of one's own self. Disappearing. Meaning they'll be unrecognizable they won't even know who they are soon. It's like a fight to keep yourself intact not crumbling into pieces but he's saying he will soon lose that battle if he continues to be like the way he is

Alternative translation for biterim: I'll be done for/ I'll be doomed/I'll be finished
