O Sardigna Patria Nostra

O Sardigna, custa est s’ora
chi ti depes ischidare
e sos sardos tot’impare
s’inde pesen in bonora

Sa richesa sun furande
in d’una manera indigna
e sas costas de Sardigna
de cimentu cucuzande

A su mere coloniale
aperieli trumba ‘e fogu
ca no paret prus su logu
pro su chi nos an fatt’heris

Una tanca fatt’a muru,
fatta a s’aferra aferra:
si su chelu fit in terra
si l’aìan serradu puru

O Sardigna, patria nostra,
de sa limba t’an privadu
e s’istoria t’an cubadu
pro sichire in custa giostra

Unu fronte de unione
e chi trunchet sas cadenas
non prus lagrimas nen penas
sotzialismu e libertade

Resistentzia, resistentzia
pro sa nostra libertade!
Chin sa sarda identidade
crescat s’indipendentzia!

A Shàrdainea, Ar Duthaich

A Shàrdainea1 is tìm dhuit
dusgadh
agus tìm do na Sàrdainich, uile le cheile,
éirigh gu deònach ealamh.

Tha iad a' slaideadh ar beartais
air mhodh dìmheasail gun onair
agus a' trasgradh nan oirthirean de Sàrdainea
le cruadhtan.

Tilgibh meall teine
do luchd-riaghlaidh na cholonaidhe,
oir an déidh na rinn iad oirnn an-dé
thainig caochladh air coltais na duthcha.

Pairc is balla uimpe,
a rinneadh ach an goidear na's urrainn daibh goid;
nan robh an speur air talamh
deanadh iad balla mu'n speur fhéin.

A Shàrdainea, ar duthaich 's ar tìr,
thug iad dhiot do chànan,
is chum iad fodha t'eachdraidh
gus an gional a' cumail riaraichte.

Nochd aghaidh aonaichte
a bhriseas na slabhraidhean,
crìoch air na deoir 's air na cràidh,
sòisealachd agus saorsainn.

Comhaireachd, comhaireachd
air son ar saorsa!
Gum fàsadh neo-eisimeileachd
cuide ri dearbh-aithne Shàrdaineach.

  • 1. Sardinia in Gaelic is Sàrdainea, but like all nouns it is declined for case and the vocative case is Shàrdainea

Thank you so much for translating this song, Tom.
About “cimentu”, you’re right, “concrete” is the proper translation, I’ve corrected it.

I've corrected the translation: cruadhtan (concrete) instead of lionn-tatha (cement) and dropped the footnote about it.
