Zümrüt-ü Anka
Evvel zaman değildi
Kalbura döndü dünya
Arpa boyu yol gittim
Geriye dönemem ki
Mutsuzum umutsuzum
Geceler uykusuzum
Acillerde doktorsuz
Sokaklarda yalnızım
Zümrüt-ü anka bir kara karga
Çağırma gelmez kendisi darda.

Traduzione
Simorgh
It was not once upon a time,
The world was riddled with holes
I wasted my life, and got nowhere¹
Not that I can return
I'm unhappy and hopeless
On nights, I'm sleepless
In emergencies, without a doctor
Alone in the streets
Simorgh, a black raven
Don't call her, she won't come, she's struggling herself

I did some (really quick) research and apparently, Zümrüt-ü Anka (lit. Emerald Phoenix) refers to Simurgh/Simorgh from Persian mythology. I intended to translate it as "Phoenix" (as Anka is generally referred to a phoenix) however, Phoenix is notoriously yellow/red because of fire, whereas in this song is referred to as a raven.

¹This line literally means "I walked the size of a barley field," according to

It's an idiom that means "to not make any progress/to make very little progress in something"
I deigned to translate it as the author wasting his life. If you feel like it means something else, feel free to correct me.
