Since you've been gone

バージョン: #1#2
Since you've been gone,
since you have left forever,
my hands are cold
for not having your hands,
and in my little garden
of hopes and dreams,
there is a rumor of winter, my love.
Without you I don’t have anything.

Since you've been gone,
since you have left me,
I'm just the shadow
of the man you have loved.
If from your spring, darling,
I drank my whole song,
now in silence, my love,
I want to weep my tears.

Since you've been gone,
since you have left me
in this house of ours,
I know I miss something.
I don’t know if it’s the air,
I don’t know, if it's the light,
but when I look, my love,
I see that I miss you.

Since you've been gone,
I have never forgotten you.
I carry your scent with me
your shadow by my hand,
and I keep memory of you,
to be able to live.
You will always be with me, my love,
even though you're not here anymore.

"Desde que tú te has ido" - in fact "Since you have died".

You are doing fine with Julio, Aldefina.

The line "llorar mi llanto"/"to cry my tears" seems to me a little redundant. What if you say "to weep my tears"? Do you see any difference?

Good, explicative comment you made!

Thank you, Rosa.
It’s nice to see you back, ‘cause I’ve been missing you  .

I see you are very active again. How was your trip to Spain? I hope you enjoyed it.

Because of my job I will not be very active until the middle of January. In fact I wasn’t already in November, as I was very busy and it’s gonna get worst now, as every year.

As for “llorar mi llanto” - it’s a kind of “buttery butter” expression in Spanish too. “To cry my tears” sounds for me the same way, but I find your suggestion definitely better.

At the beginning I wrote “to cry out my tears”. I changed it, because, even though I have posted the original lyrics, chetza has finished her translation 14 minutes before me and she wrote it in a very similar way ( “I wanna cry out tears”). Still I wonder what do you think about it. Do you find it better than what you suggested?

Gracias.

I am not sure. I think that when you cry, you cry tears. Don't you?

Welcome to you too. I know you were busy all November
My trip was fine. I saw all the family (we had a wedding), friends, and the few old people that are left.

Take care and keep in touch. Are you going to leave any of Julio's for me?

AldefinaAldefina    月, 16/12/2013 - 19:43

Don’t worry, I will keep in touch, though for about one month I will still be very busy. Nevertheless, if I only find a little time I will drop in and make at least one translation - of course it will be one of Julio’s songs, as I’m not going to leave anything for anyone Wink smile .

Of course I’m kidding. Anyone can translate any song, so I should rather speed up. And how about doing it the same way we both did it once? I mean translating the same song and posting our translations at the same time - in the ideal case within one minute. Anyone who reads these words is also welcomed. We only need to agree in advance what song it would be.

If you like to do it again please let me know, but it won't be possible before the middle of January.
In the meantime you can try to make your versions of the songs that I already translated. It would be very interesting to compare them.

Una traducción perfecta, es que hay una frase que puede expresarse mejor.

Desde que tú te has ido - Since you've been gone

"to weep my tears" es mejor también

A partir de eso, el resto está perfecto.
