Hi LT, just like inside an artist page you can insert the link of his Wikipedia page, I would like to be able to do the same thing in a song page. Can we add "Wiki Song" and "Wiki Album" as optional fields to fill?
And you, what do you think?
Thanks

I think those fields would go unused for the vast majority of songs. Aren't the submitter's comments enough for this information?

Not always. Especially if they are considered spam comments by another reader but that wasn't their intention for it to be. Or mislabeled as irrelevant comments.

Well, everyone can mislabel them as they want, but as long as they make sense and actually fit the song, they'll stay there, don't worry.

If you're going to put your two cents, at least answer the question correctly:

I think those fields would go unused for the vast majority of songs. Aren't the submitter's comments enough for this information?

Where oh where did "considered spam" and "mislabeled as irrelevant comments" did you see that above? I can't see it, I must be blind. This is what I mean when I say that sometimes you intervene with the most random of comments, not even contributing in the least to the topic. You made this about you once again. Please stick to the topic, or else don't contribute at all. If you understand this, you will either: 1) stick to the topic or 2) not comment anything and move on. If I see you adding a bunch of comments arguing your point, they'll be unpublished.

Go ahead unpublish every single comment I've ever made on here relevant or not! EVERY SINGLE ONE I HAVE EVER MADE HERE ON LT! Just leave me alone!

How do you think the rest of us feel, seeing you intervene with your irrelevant comments all of the time, even when we tell you to STOP, you still do it. Don't try to turn this around and make it seem like you're the victim here. I will personally copy and paste EVERY SINGLE TIME you were asked to stop intervening by SEVERAL staff members.

Those are just some, don't even get me started on why you were banned for over a month.

If someone says something that has nothing to do with an ongoing discussion - and/or specially if the discussion does not concern users in the first place, there's a 99% chance they will say something irrelevant - or something that will only stir more flames in a already burning fire. Leave that for the staff as if one is hurt by whatever someone else says, it's one's problem for meddling with it and we won't be able to do anything. And yeah, these comments really will be unpublished. It's just a matter of thinking before talking.

Anyway, back to the question: Adding a new field can only generate more issues. It's hard enough for us to tend to the piles of incorrect content that was flagged to us, do we really want to add another heavy load on our shoulders? Of course I'm not saying that the staff shouldn't work etc., but people even made threads to brag about them not being answered quickly, so wouldn't it be better to use 'Submitter's comments' only? Also thinking that Wiki pages can easily be unpublished from morning to evening, so we actually risk showing a broken link.

The Wiki pages can also be changed by anybody at any time too.

Sticking to the topic at hand, I completely agree with Juan. And not only that, the truth is there are more songs and albums without a Wikipedia page than with it, at least in the English-speaking wiki; now imagine that in other languages. In a way, it would be kind of a futile extra field that would stay unused for about 85-90% of the time.

How was that little snide remark necessary? Alma literally told you something similar to what I said but he said it in a way that sounds far more patient with you. Yet you thank him for not "jumping down your throat"? It's "jumping AT my throat" by the way, if you insist on using phrases like that.

Back to the topic at hand: I don't think this feature is necessary, unless more users are on board with it honestly.

We believe such additional info fits the "Submitter's comment" field, and adding an extra field in not needed.
