Die Lore-Leyの歌詞

Ich weiß nicht, was soll es bedeuten,
Daß ich so traurig bin;
Ein Mährchen aus alten Zeiten,
Das kommt mir nicht aus dem Sinn.

Die Luft ist kühl und es dunkelt,
Und ruhig fließt der Rhein;
Der Gipfel des Berges funkelt
Im Abendsonnenschein.

Die schönste Jungfrau sitzet
Dort oben wunderbar
Ihr gold’nes Geschmeide blitzet,
Sie kämmt ihr gold’nes Haar.

Sie kämmt es mit gold’nem Kamme,
Und singt ein Lied dabei;
Das hat eine wundersame,
Gewaltige Melodei.

Den Schiffer im kleinen Schiffe
Ergreift es mit wildem Weh;
Er schaut nicht die Felsenriffe,
Er schaut nur hinauf in die Höh’.

Ich glaube, die Wellen verschlingen
Am Ende Schiffer und Kahn;
Und das hat mit ihrem Singen
Die Lore-Ley gethan.

Danke. Hab Verlinkungen in die Submitter's comments eingetragen.

It's a pity not to include a vdeo for this beautiful song. There's at least one good choral performance and (sadly) a lot of self-important diva performances on youtube and a couple of useful soprano performances on youtube, and Richard Tauber's rendering at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3m9LwyFoBaE as well is really excellent.

If somebody adds a video, he/she should also mention the interpret! The singer in this case is the famous Richard Tauber

michealtmichealt    日, 30/12/2018 - 14:43

I've added Tauber as a featured artist. That was easier than moving this from being a Heine poem to Tauber being teh main artist.

I agree not to change the creator. That is always a problem of LT: We translate a text but often the writer is not mentioned but the singer.

If it fits to mention Tauber as a "featured artist", I doubt. IMO as long as LT does not give a field to entry the writer, one has to mention him in the submitters comment.

michealtmichealt    日, 30/12/2018 - 16:26

That makes sense, so I've added Tauber as the singer in the submitter's comment.
The reason I didn't mention Tauber either as a featured artist or in the submitter's comment when the link to the video was added is that back in 2015 I wasn't an editor so I could neither add the video link (sciera did) nor change the submitter's comment nor add a featured artist, because it wasn't me who originally submitted the song. Now I'm an editor so when someone reminded me about the issue I could do fix it.

Thanks for providing the link; I've added it to the song.

There's an error in the last stanza of the lyrics: Heine wrote "Felsenriffe", not "Felsenrisse" (see page 179 of his Buch der Lieder published in 1827). I didn't notice this when translating to English (I guess I just read it as Felsenriffe) but I did when translating to Spanish (probably because I had to think a lot harder).

ScieraSciera    火, 05/01/2016 - 18:00

Probably the text was written in fraktur, in which the s and the f look very similar. I've corrected it.

ScieraSciera    火, 10/09/2019 - 16:40

Weil man unbetonte Silben in Gedichten weglassen kann, insbesondere wenn das besser ins Metrum passt.
Hier dürft es vom Metrum her aber keinen Unterschied machen.

ScieraSciera    土, 24/10/2020 - 14:31

It seems to be spelt with y, not with i, but you're right that the article was missing. And in addition, there seems to belong a dash into the name.
Why did you remove your comment?

CeasarCeasar    日, 25/10/2020 - 19:17

The original German lyrics had the title Die Lorelei, while English translation has made it Loreley.

No dash ever used.

P.S.
It looks like sequential conversion Yaffa-Jaffa-Japha-Jappa-Joppa-Жопа... :-(

Jahrhundert) ;)

CeasarCeasar    金, 18/03/2022 - 19:40

При внимательной прослушке слова:
Er schaut nicht die Felsenriffe,

звучат как (и в субтитрах тоже):
Er sieht nicht die Felsenriffe,

This poem by Heinrich Heine dates from 1824 and has been set to music many times, for instance by Franz Liszt and by Clara Schumann. This song, the most popular one, has been made in 1837 by Friedrich Silcher.
