Quixote

バージョン: #1#2
I am one of those who dream of freedom,
a captain of a sailing ship that has no sea.
I am one of those who live searching for a place.
I am Quixote of the ageless time.

And I like people who are real.
Being a bohemian, a poet and a vagabond fits me well.
I am a singer of silences, who doesn’t live peacefully,
the one who shows off to be Spanish wherever he goes.

And my Dulcinea, where are you?
Your love is not easy to find.
And your face can be seen in every woman,
so many times I dreamed I was dreaming of your love.

I am happy with a glass of wine and a piece of bread,
and also, of course, with caviar and champagne.
I am that vagabond, who does not live in peace,
I'm content with nothing, with everything and with more.

I am afraid of the time that easily passes by,
of people who talk, who tell to much what they think,
because I come from another world,
I am Quixote of the ageless time.

And my Dulcinea, where are you?
Your love is not easy to find.
And your face can be seen in every woman,
so many times I dreamed that I was dreaming of your love.
So many times I dreamed that I was dreaming of your love.

Muy bien, Aldefina!
I want to point out a couple things:
1. First line - "I am one of those..."
2. second stanza, second verse - "Being (a) bohemian, (a) poet and vagabond go well with me (fits me)".
3. Second stanza, fourt verse,- you don't need "a".
Fourth stanza, first verse - "...glass of wine"
Fifth stanza, second verse - I think you should make it a little shorter.
Third verse - I am not sure but I think it means "another world"

Note: You can say "Don Quixote' but, actually, to people with those ideals we call them "Quijotes": "Es un Quijote = He is a Quixote".

Gracias, Rosa Regular smile !

It could have been even better, but somehow I was being disturbed all the time - the phone was ringing endlessly and I had to break my work many times, losing concentration.

Some comments:

1. S.2 v.4 - “a” is definitely wrong here, but I think “the” fits well.

2. S.5 v.2 - I made it shorter, hope it’s fine now.

3. “Mundo que está Más allá” - Otro Mundo, la Otra Vida o la vida tras la muerte.
El Más allá es un término genérico que hace referencia a la idea de que habría una continuación de la existencia después de la muerte. Según creencias populares de la gran mayoría de culturas humanas, esta continuidad se realizaría en un propuesto mundo espiritual más allá del mundo: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A1s_all%C3%A1

I wrote: “world that is far away” - thinking about a “different world”. For sure your suggestion sounds better and I used it now. At the same time I have changed the beginning of this verse.
Btw - have a look: http://www.fundeu.es/recomendacion/y-es-que-154/
I always had trouble to translate this expression properly. Now I know why Teeth smile .

Thanks!
