You can call me "qf" for short :) If you see something that need editing, please let me know!

I'm here to learn as much as I can about the languages I'm studying, as well as to become acquainted with the awesome music of the world. I also like helping people with English.

In regards to my comments: I try to make my comments as helpful as possible. If they are negative, please do not take personally. I'm just trying to help you improve your translation. I tend to write my comments in the same language as the post when possible (ie, when i feel comfortable enough in the post's language to do so).

In regards to ratings: My main purpose in using this site is to improve my language proficiency. To that end, I don't think the 1-5 scale rating on this site is very helpful. Rather, a detailed comment is the most informative rating you can give someone, both for the translator and anyone who might read the translation. I do think the "thanks" button is great, both as a way of thanking the translator and as a "like" button. Sometimes I might give a 1 rating if I think someone should consider unpublishing a translation, but I've decided to refrain from rating for the time being.
-------------------------------------------------
On using my translations: Let's face it, I'm not a professional translator and my translations more intellectual exercises than finished "works." They're full of errors, both of translation, as well as spelling and punctuation. I'm totally okay with people using my translations in any way they see fit (unless it's for evil purposes...though I can't imagine what those might be). I don't even care if you credit me if you post them on another site. BUT, I do ask that if you republish my translations anywhere else, whether on the internet or anywhere in the real world, you acknowledge in that publication that the translation is NOT YOURS. I think it's ethically wrong to post something as your own when it's not, and if you don't explicitly state that something is not your own, most people will assume that you wrote it. Therefore, for honesty's sake, acknowledge that you aren't the original source of the translation, even if you don't cite the original source, namely me.
