Yeah, Australia is far away from the European Broadcasting area. But I'm okay with it unless juries overrate Australia :d

No, they don't... it only happened in 2015, and since then Australia is always invited :d

It was because of some anniversary in 2015, right? And for some reason, inexplicable to me, the Australians are huge fans of Eurovision. :-o

"On 10 February 2015, the EBU announced that in honour of the 60th anniversary of Eurovision, it had invited Australia to participate in the finals of the contest, represented by Special Broadcasting Service (SBS). SBS had been a long-time broadcaster of the event, which has had a large following in Australia. The Australian entry was placed directly in the grand final.
