A compilation of Eurovision songs that did not qualify to represent their country

You can contribute to this collection by transcribing songs. Most songs are not well known meaning that they don't have lyrics, and it would be much appreciated to help me. Some songs are so unpopular that they don't have any audio on YouTube or, worst of all, forgotten forever!

Festivali i Këngës (transl. "Festival of Song") is an annual music competition in Albania organised by the national broadcaster Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH). Broadcast every year since its inauguration in 1962, it has also determined the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest since 2004.

Eurovision – Australia Decides is an annual song competition organised by Australian public broadcaster Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) and production partner Blink TV. It has determined the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest since 2019 (except in 2021, following the cancellation of the previous contest).

8. Eesti Laul - Estonia 컬렉션

Eesti Laul (English: 'Estonian Song' or 'The Song of Estonia') is an annual music competition organised by Estonian public broadcaster Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR). It determines the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest, and has been staged every year since 2009. The contest was introduced in 2009, replacing the former Eurolaul festival, used since Estonia's first participation in Eurovision in 1993. Since its introduction, the competition has been one of the most popular television programmes in Estonia; it is also broadcast on radio and the Internet. In 2012, the semifinals averaged 199 thousand viewers, and over an estimated 296 thousand people in Estonia watched the final.

Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (English: Contest for New Music) is an annual music contest organised by the Finnish public broadcaster Yle. UMK began in 2012 as the new Finnish selection format for the Eurovision Song Contest, replacing the original Finnish Eurovision selection Suomen euroviisukarsinta which had been held since 1961.

The German representative in the contest is usually chosen during a national selection, broadcast on Das Erste, which is organized by one of the nine regional public broadcasting organizations of the ARD: from 1956 to 1978, Hessischer Rundfunk (HR); from 1979 to 1991, Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR); from 1992 to 1995, by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR); and since 1996, by Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). Between 2010 and 2012, private broadcaster ProSieben worked in partnership with NDR.

19. MESC - Malta 컬렉션

Malta uses a televised national final to select its entry. From its debut in 1971 through 1976, Malta Song Festival, an existing song festival that had been created in 1960 was used to select the entrant, with the winner going to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest. Since its return in 1991, national finals under various names were held to select the entry, including Malta Song for Europe, Malta Eurovision Song Contest, and Malta Eurosong. In 2009, a new format of the contest was introduced, the Malta Eurosong contest, with eight semi-finals held over November 2008 to January 2009, with a final of 20 songs competing in February. In 2010 six semi-finals were held over December 2009 and January 2010, and a final was once again held in February 2010. The national final format returned for the 2022 contest.

Nationaal Songfestival (Dutch: [ˈnɑ(t)ʃoːnaːl ˈsɔŋfɛstivɑl]; lit. 'National Song Festival') was an annual music competition, which was originally organised by the Dutch public broadcaster Nederlandse Televisie Stichting (NTS), and later by the Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) and Televisie Radio Omroep Stichting (TROS). It was staged almost every year between 1956 and 2012 to determine the country's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. A mix of different selection processes have been used to determine Switzerland's entry in each year's contest. Since 2019, SRG SSR has used an internal selection process, although televised national finals were used in previous years, held under various names including Concours Eurovision from the 1950s to 2000s, and Die Grosse Entscheidungsshow between 2011 and 2018. In the 1980s, the Swiss national finals tended to have ten participating songs each year: three in French, three in German, three in Italian and one in Romansch.
