The guitar don't lie

Dedicated to the bards and singers who shared their soul in the songs we love
--
Organized as they came to my mind rather than in their order of importance (to me). Maybe, will change this later.
--
Many thanks for the contributions to this collection - found new artists/songs and remembered good old songs lost somewhere in my memory.
Enjoy!
If you understand Russian, a very interesting video about the "battle for the guitar" was suggested by [@vevvev] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-WDb2XavCk

Fun fact: Paul Mauriat, the famous French orchestra leader, was so impressed by this song “To Vivaldi Music” (co-authored with Viktor Berkovskiy) that he even recorded an instrumental version of it:

Listening to this song, I felt like I was watching a movie. It helps to know Russian...

Thanks for the link - my mom loved this singer! What a voice!

Alex, it's a heart-wrenching song.
The Soldiers of the Moor stood as an international emblem of spiritual resistance to Nazi oppression. The song has been translated into several languages. In English, it is usually known as The Peat Bog Soldiers.

I read about the song's history,
https://www.ushmm.org/collections/the-museums-collections/collections-hi...

Please forgive me for not including it here, but this collection is meant for guitar songs.

For example, I didn't include the song I love because its version here is not the guitar:

This version below would have been my preference:

Die Moorsoldaten как раз и играет знаменитый немецкий бард Ханнес Вадер на ГИТАРЕ, а то, что всё равно не включили в коллецию - это очень странно. Но коллекция всё же Ваша и выбор тоже Ваш

Alex, LT version isn't guitar. Just like the song I described by vysotsky.

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    月, 15/04/2019 - 11:44

Ivan,
I have 3 versions of this song, but this one isn't played on a guitar. Thanks

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    火, 16/04/2019 - 16:28

Last two songs are wonderful, but like vysotsky link above, where is the guitar? I found a good vysotsky link so maybe we can find less Melodia-factory version.

Is it me or words have guitar, but music doesn't? Nevertheless, a very lovely song. Thanks.

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    火, 16/04/2019 - 18:21

One really needs to шукать the guitar, but it has tiny bit of it there... Lol. Why do so many songs have this restaurant song sound?

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    木, 18/04/2019 - 15:04

Great song - didn't add it at on start because video doesn't play

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    木, 18/04/2019 - 15:21

Copyright error. Let's skip it for now. I didn't go to work and headache is overwhelming - I'll find video later.

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    木, 18/04/2019 - 15:39

Do you like it? I feel awful, but I hate it. I will add it out of respect to you, if you truly like it

vevvevvevvev    木, 18/04/2019 - 15:43

This is your collection. I love rock'n'roll (I love music in general), but in this case it doesn't matter.

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    木, 18/04/2019 - 08:04

For some reason all notifications didn't come until the last one. I have a tough day at work so likely will be back on weekend. Thanks for all your links.

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    木, 18/04/2019 - 19:33

Lol, it comes with a 5 min ad of some guy lecturing on how to kiss... Lol. I'll see if I can find a better version. Btw, I didn't click on the link to learn the secret of kissing...😏

Ove ErikssonOve Eriksson    木, 18/04/2019 - 19:44

Omg smile sorry I don't understand what the song is about! Only thing I know is the guitar playing is outstanding, haven't even noticed there was a link regarding kissing o:)

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    木, 18/04/2019 - 20:03

It's awesome - I also found it. Can this rule of no instrumentals be lifted? If not, I will create an entry like I did for the "green sleeves" where we can add links to the great instrumentals such as this one! For certain, I will write a poem (yes, a bad one, Alex Frei) so I can link to this great piece.

SchnurrbratSchnurrbrat    木, 18/04/2019 - 20:08

if no lyrics involved, you will have to add all those classic music guitarists. and street musicians.

Ove ErikssonOve Eriksson    木, 18/04/2019 - 20:12

There should really be an exception for rules here on LT, as there are such to most all things in life. Your poem, which I'd love to read, might be criticised by other poets (as Alex Frei) but perhaps appreciated by other ones, don't you think? Regular smile

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    木, 18/04/2019 - 20:34

I'm working at it to be worthy of such music, and to live up to Alex's expectations of my poetic skills (lol, hope spring is eternal?)
anyway, He's a really a good young man.

Ove ErikssonOve Eriksson    木, 18/04/2019 - 20:18

Nice song, mate! Seems to have no guitar sounds but only keyboards though...

SchnurrbratSchnurrbrat    木, 18/04/2019 - 20:25

it's seem to be written as a tribute to well known guitarist, though, that's why

SchnurrbratSchnurrbrat    木, 18/04/2019 - 20:36

i did some research on this song to get better understanding of lyrics, at it is overloaded with personal references. Kind of main theme song.
