Where is it?

La la la…

I must admit to you, I’m wondering
We are watched from above to live hurried lives
We were so crazy as kids
These days it constantly sucks

So what are we waiting for to be happy
To love each other well, love each other better
To wonder at small things
I prefer to not take life seriously
It’s not worth it, you know time is precious

Where is it?
That smile you had as a child
Where is it?
Definitely engulfed by time
And I want love and joy
To strafe your hearts
I want to keep my innocence
Where is it?

Sell me your dreams of glory
I won’t do anything about it, believe me
I want stories told to me
To stay as a kid again

Where is it?
That smile you had as a child
Where is it?
Definitely engulfed by time
And I want love and joy
To strafe your hearts
I want to keep my innocence
Where is it?

Since it is each one of us
Somewhere, yes, locked up
My flame didn’t finish burning
I want to see fires everywhere

La la la…

Where is it?
That smile you had as a child
Where is it?
Definitely engulfed by time
And I want love and joy
To strafe your hearts
I want to keep my innocence
Where is it?

La la la…

For to be happy -> to be happy
To wonder a little -> to wonder at small things
Definitely -> sans doute
Shower -> Strafe?
When he switches from 'il' to 'elle' it's difficult to convey in English that it represents a switch of subject from 'smile' to 'flame', but I don't personally think using 'she' makes it any clearer.

Thanks for the help! I’m not sure what you mean with the first and third one though.

OK, I can now see the 'for' belongs with 'waiting' whereas I read it as 'for to' translating 'pour': my mistake. Also careless with my suggestion on 'sans doute'. I should have said 'definitely -> no doubt', but you could say 'presumably' or 'I guess' or similar. I just think he's speculating rather than saying he has absolute knowledge of what had happened to the smile. Sorry to be less than helpful there!
