Hard as Iron

The man who was speaking said
“I’m coming to fleece you”
I was already fleeced, I wasn’t going to reply
Everything he promises us from the stand
We’ll be waiting for until it falls from the moon

He’s raised up by grace
He says he’s going to change our lives
Under the gilt of the palaces
We’re just afraid that he’ll forget

The man who was speaking thought
“I’m going to dry them out”
We were already dry, we didn’t answer
When everything is already black, there’s nothing more to fear
For us it’s only hope that remains to be extinguished

He’s got lots of other things to do
There are so many weather girls
If he thinks about us between two glasses
It will be during office hours

It’s as clear as water
He swears it hard as iron
Sharing the big win
You can leave that to him
This will be Eldorado
He has the six winning numbers
And the bonus ball

The man who was speaking said
“I’m only thinking of you
I’m only thinking about plucking you, I confess
Father Christmas, Jesus, all those stories
You believed them, you can certainly believe me”

With a glance to his secretary
He asked for the echo
The same as for The Holy Father
That guy knows his job

It’s as clear as water
He swears it hard as iron
Sharing the big win
That, he has made his business
This will be Eldorado
He has the six winning numbers
And the bonus ball

He swears it hard as iron!!!

This will be Eldorado
He has the six winning numbers
He swears it hard as iron
And his voice is lost in the echo
And his voice is lost in the echo

Fixed all those thanks. :-)

Loto - yep, we have it too - the phrase I chose would be immediately recognised by a Brit as referring to The National Lottery

The slim promise of wealth helps keep the proles in line.

I've always feared the the lottery's greatest contribution is the opportunity to have your hopes and dreams raised and then shattered on a bi-weekly basis. Or on demand if one plays scratchcards. In the past you'd have had to wait for a momentous event to remind you how miserable life truly is. ;-)
