GRIMOIRE

It would be great

Shake the tip of your finger as you wish
alloallo I knocked1
I'm an important magician
lalala let's shout with this voice

Tell me the things you can't tell your mom
I can erase all the scars you've hidden from your dad
Secrets, or self-interest, leave it up to me
Open those tie-dyed eyes

It would be great

I don't like that you're crying
Let's make it happen, that "I wish.."
If you fly in that sky, if I can see you again
I hope it'll be more that now

Six seven eight nine ten

My prayers, to the day you shed on the bathroom floor
alloalloalloallo???
I don't know anything about you, that's why
That's why we could understand each other, don't you think? Easily

With the help of a program, you might be able to sort out your valuable hypocrisy thoughts without any problems
Please give me your hand

It would be great

If you look serious again you'll get hurt
Let's believe it, that "I wish.."
If she liked you, if you could turn back in time
I'm sure it'll be much better than now

The wrong button remains
I don't need a house mouse, I don't need it
This is not a Grimm's Fairy Tale
Or a title late show

Just you and my wishes

It would be great

So that you don't force yourself to laugh
Let's shout, now "Okay"
Being alone is scary, so if I close my eyes tonight
I hope it'll be like one swing

It would be great, if you'd just turn around
We could use this Grimoire as many times we need

She does say "six sept huit neuf dix", you may not hear it because it's tenuous, but it's there! (at 1:22)

Thank you I just listened again you were right! I used google translate and it seems like it's french (no wonder I didn't know lol) Thanks again!

semijasemija    土, 25/01/2020 - 18:52

Yeah, I'm french native and it does make sense that a non-native wouldn't notice it at first ahah. I had to listen closer to hear it too because of the soft effect!

Thank you so much for this!!! Even if it isn’t perfect, I don’t care, you still put time and effort into this and I appreciate it😁 another one of my favorite Reol songs and now I can read along

Hi, great translation! However I noticed a mistake in the sentence with あの子 (the second chorus) あの子 is for a girl, so I think it's not "he" but "she"; also, I know that without the pronouns it is not easy to determine who's the subject but from what I've learned from my Japanese class, は is for the subject and に is to indicate to whom the action is made--which makes me think that what Reol says is, "If you like her, you can turn back time" rather than "If (s)he likes you, ..." Tell me what you think! :)

Hello, thank you so much for the correction... I’m still learning so I don’t know about it but I’ll trust you for that! I will make sure to update it as soon as I can!! Thank you once again🙏

(Hey it's me again lol)
Also : 好かれたら is actually passive, meaning the "に" is referring to "you". The literal translation then would be "If you were liked by this girl" Therefore I think the proper translation here would be something along the lines of this : "If she liked you, if you could turn back in time -- everything would be better off" ! :)

(hello again kkk)
This is more complicated than I thought, why would "toki o modosetara" refer to YOU again if "ano ko ni suka retara" is actually talking about YOU being liked by her?... Also during "furo no yuka ni nagasu ano hi" the subject isn't clear either could that also mean it's referring to a SHE instead of YOU?
I translated it to: The day you shed on the bathroom floor
P.S I edited it, thank yoouuu!!

Pronouns in japanese songs are always so complicated - when is it "I" ? when is it "you" ? I struggle so much with this so I understand what you're going through lmao --- for example I wonder if the first verse of the song shouldn't be something in the lines of "Your wishes at the tip of my fingers as I shake them" or more literaly "A pinch of my fingers, your wishes"

And so it is absolutely needed to pay close attention to the context - here it seems to be a magician wanting to fulfill "君 (you)"'s wishes as they want "you" to be good.

In the verse "あの子に好かれたら 時を戻せたら", and like in most lines/japanese songs (or anything that is japanese for that matter), the subject is left out in the sentence - but it's here and we "know" it thanks to the context -> a magician wanting the best for "You" + "You" is depicted as the subject in the first verse of the paragraph. ("***君は*** また真面目な顔して傷付くんだ") I guess the meaning of the line is showing regret : "Ah, if I could go back in time and have[make] her love me, then---" but since there is no indication someone's speaking, and from the sole context we have, we can only assume the magician's talking for "You" and so that makes a second person's sentence.

As for the "風呂の床に流すあの日"... honestly this one is hard on me too. I can't get the meaning behind 流す ; what is shedding ? I guess it is vague on purpose but that makes translating it in french really hard for me - and even in english I see the difficulty. Since there is "僕の祈" just after and we know the link between the magician (僕) and "You", and this line is much sooner than when "she" is metionned, I think "You" is a safe bet although that is all about interpretation I guess :0

And no worries! I know Japanese can get really tricky, especially Reol's lyrics. I'm also still learning and that's always better to help each other through this!!

Hello! Since this had proofreading requested, I thought I would say a few things.

だといいな could be viably translated as both "I (sure) hope so" and "That would be great". I don't think there's anything wrong with how you translated it throughout the song! However, the way you translate "いいな" in the verses (as "okay") is kind of missing the mark. Maybe "I wish..." in quotes would work?

Apparently you had some confusion about the line 風呂の床に流すあの日. "Those days flowing down the floor of the bath"... basically, the (memories of) those days are being like, "washed off" of them, like in a bathtub, and so they're streaming down and onto the floor like water.

Some more miscellaneous things:
"I got knocked down" --> "I knocked (on your door)", evidently the correct sense based on "allo, allo" next to it
"I don't know anything about you, that's why // Don't you think you can figure it out by yourself? It's easy" --> "...that's why // we could understand each other, don't you think? Easily"
"It would be great, if you turn around // How many time will I have to use it? that Grimoire" --> something like "It would be great, if you'd just turn around, then we could use this Grimoire however many times we need"

There are a couple more errors throughout, but I don't want to rewrite it all for you, lol!
Hope this helped
