Ich steh an deiner Krippen hier (028)
Ich steh' an deiner Krippen hier,
o Jesu, du mein Leben;
ich komme, bring' und schenke dir,
was du mir hast gegeben.
und kann mich nicht satt sehen;
So laß mich doch dein Kripplein sein;
komm, komm und lege bei mir ein
dich und all deine Freuden!

Beside thy manger here I stand
Beside thy manger here I stand
Dear Jesus, Lord and Savior
A gift of love within my hand
To thank Thee for Thy favor
O take my humble offering
my heart, my soul, yes, everything
Is Thine to keep forever.
Where I had not yet seen the light
Your tender light you granted
And you gave up for our delight
what we'd not apprehended
Before I graced my mother's thighs
Saw light of day in fainting cries
Your eyes yet were upon me
Where pangs of death lay sore on me
you were my sun of splendor
your rays of light would set me free
thou savior, comfort-lender
O sun that with her radiant light
brought me to know of faith's delight
serenity and beauty
With joy I gaze upon Thy face;
Thy glory and Thy splendor
Is greater than my heart can praise
And songs can fitly render.
O how I wish my mind would be
As boundless as the deepest sea,
T'would still be lost in wonder.
O give that such a noble boy
lay there in days of olden
for saplings all of noble lords
belong in mangers golden
For much too plain is hay and straw
From silk and velvet we should draw
to grace a child so tender
O grant me this abundant grace -
I hope t'will meet Thy pleasure -
That I might be Thy dwelling place,
Dear Savior Sweetest Treasure.
O Let me be Thy manger-bed
Then shall I lift my lowly head
With joy beyond all measure.

this translation is only for 3 stanza. i will add the missing ones.
---------------
stanza 1,4,6 by William Martin Czamanske (1873-1964)
stanza 2, 3, 5 by me. stanza 5 doesn't keep the meter but it would take too much time to fix it. already worked 30 minutes on it and was out of ideas.
