La Vie en Rose [Rhyming Translation for Singers]

With eyes that move me like a song
A smile that loses me in thought of
An image with the truest shot of
The man to whom I belong

When he holds me in his arms
And moves me with his charms
Life's colored like pink roses

Every day he tells me so
His love for me I know
And my heart also chose his

He has moved into my heart
My happiness, a part
And I understand what causes

It's he for I -- I for he, all our days
Love he proclaims, love he swears, love he says

And from things that I can see
Now I feel within me
My heart that beats

Endless love fills endless nights
A rapturous joy that comes about
Banishing pain and ending doubt
Happy, happy to die

When he holds me in his arms
And moves me with his charms
Life's colored like pink roses

Every day he tells me so
His love for me I know
And my heart also chose his

He has moved into my heart
My happiness, a part
And I understand what causes

It's he for I -- I for he, all our days
Love he proclaims, love he swears, love he says

And from things that I can see
Now I feel within me
My heart that beats

et ça me fait quelque chose. -> it's about being moved, not choosing him

That makes me change my poses ???

At the moment I first see ???

The original lyrics are silken indeed, that's challenging... :)

Well, a pose could be not only physical. This word may mean a manner or an attitude as well. Although I must concede it's a bit far-fetched. But I hope the author being a native speaker could make his own choice. ;)

How about "Transfixed by what I can see" for the 2nd line?

I'm still thinkin about a good rhyme for the 1st line, "poses" doesn't capture the original meaning much more accurately than "chose his"... HMM what a toughie, I'm glad y'all commented and helped me out.

Hey, thanks for the thoughtful reply!

"et ça me fait quelque chose. -> it's about being moved, not choosing him"
That was one of the toughest lines to translate, I changed that one the most I think. I went with "chose his" just because it was the cleverest rhyme for "roses" and "causes".

"Et dès que je l’aperçois, -> the idea is rather that the mere sight of him puts her in a trance"
Thanks especially for the help with this one, "And from things that I can see" is one of the blandest lines that I liked the least. How about "Transfixed by what I can see"?
