Copii ai dar tu să mori măi

Copii ai dar tu să mori
Să n-ajungi la ușa lor măi
Copii ai dar tu să mori
Să n-ajungi la ușa lor măi

Să n-ajungi la ușa lor măi
Să n-ajungi la ușa lor măi

Să n-ajungi la ușa lor
Să mănânci pâinea pe gol
Să n-ajungi la ușa lor

Că cei când se pun la masă
Că cei când se pun la masă

Că cei când se pun la masă
Închid ușile la casă
Eu rămân pe prispă afară
Singurică, bolnăvioară

  • 1. There are somemistakes in the original source lyrics transcription this line for ex is "Am venit sa-ți spun amaru" it is not "sa-i spun amaru"
  • 2. Of course this line reffers not to a literal death ...more of a spiritual "death", an abandonment of parents . It approaches the main themathic of the song yet again ...Parents forgotten by their kids and devoided of affection by them
  • 3. Again a there s a mistake present in the transcr of lyrics it is "Caci ei cand " it is not ca cei cand
  • 4. Simple song talkin about kids love and how kids forges about their parents and abandon them Nothing new

@maluca @ maluca Done an 2-nd variant word to word ....Enjoy ... Still the so called "poetic " one is the real adaptation of the text meaning the other one's just there for the numbers and statistic in my oppinion ...But yeah ...i thought you might be needin an word to word translation too

@Radu Robert I don't agree that there are mistakes in my transcription.

Paragraf 2 Line 2 Am venit să-ți spun amaru would make sense as the first line it is a2-nd person singular
Although it is soundin the way you said at a second listening : Am venit să-i spun amaru (the singer has an weird accent anyway and even more weirder pronunciation)

Still in the paragraph 7 and 8 first lines the right vatriant is the one i've told "căci ei (Fiindcă ei) You were prolly again misleaded by her pronunciation still " ca cei " as in "cause the ones when they sit at the table " ) doesn t exist here . I really don't quite like this song themathic so let's not expand further more if you believe so leave it so but those 3 lines at the end are wrong and the one in the start of the song although it is sung that way doesn t make any sense so yeah see you around Bye bye !

You should further more coincentrate to provide qualitative content and transcription and pay more attention or ask for help ....sometimes 2 words can ruin an whole structure meaning

There is a clear pronunciation of the letter "ț" in the third verse, but no pronunciation in the fourth. This is consistently repeated in the fifth and sixth. Surely this is done on purpose.

In the 19-21 verses the distinguishing trait is the lack of a hiatus, that differentiates căc[i-e]i from că cei. "Cei" in this context meaning "aceia" or "they", which translates to "because when they sit on the table".

I didn't take the liberty to finish the English translation because folk music is hard to translate. I suggest you do not attempt and translate genres you have no experience with.

I'd suggest you to tone down your tone and show some respect . Since there are 2 variants a literal one and an more poetical one i kinda a'm able to translate such genres as i've done in the past with songs from Subcarpati or Diamanta Petarau and many other folk singers and nobody complained or rushed in to make assumptions about what i am able to do and what not .
Just because you aren't able to convey a text meaning doesn't mean that other people aren't too. The song isn't that hard to be understood idk how you've found it so .It is an simple song approachin the themathic of abandonment of parents by their kids and the lack of compassion shown by them . The singer cries his sorrows thrghout this song and enlists his disappointment and the many a sufferin provoked by her kids indifference and abandonment .

The last verse clarifies it and quite ilustrates once again that the so called "death" meantioned in the earlier lines in spite of raisin and havin children it is a spiritual death , an abandonment , and that the so called inability to reach by their door and the day by day eatin of just a little piece of bread on its own " again it is not about an actual inability as in physycal or material inability to reach to her kids door (home) it is about her kids movin on to their homes and forgeting their parents (about her),lettin them behind (not welcomin them even in visit to their house..) and not provide any type of help nor material, nor' sentimental. I'd wonder what would mean to you "Să mănânci pâinea pe gol" ,"Căci ei când se pun la masă Închid ușile la casă" I wonder if you'd be able to even observe that the "They" in this line is a refference to her kids and that the line about eatin your loaf of bread alone it is a metaphorical line talkin in fact about the lack of any kind of help and the endurance of such poverty inflicted to her by her kids carelessness. i think you know the say in Romanian that goes like : "pun doar paine goala pe masa" traiesc doar p[e-o bucat' de paine " and that this say it is an more non literal way of expressin one person poverty

If you weren't able to link these lines and even when you've reached the last paragraph which clearly makes this song theme even more clear.than i hope i've raised some light in this big dilema song for you . One last thing ...About the last verses lines in Romanian when you'd want to say "Fiindcă atunci când ei " you say "Că cei când" ? Weird not the grammar i've learned in school what you've wrote there is grammatically incorrect and it isn't even sang that way in the original . An incorect gramatically structure isn't just some distinguishing trait is the lack of a hiatus and once again this "Că cei " vs "Căci (fiindcă) ei" are 2 different structures . For your clarification " Că (Fiindcă) cei de acolo sunt ai mei " = because the ones from there are mine " Căci ei cand se pun la masă" = because when they sit around the table .The main subject of these 3 lines present in the 7th and eight paragraph is once again this singer kids|(her relation with them) she'd be tellin us the way her kids would treat her and not care to even let her in their home , but maybe for you she'd be tellin us that they be shuttin /lockin out their doors literally when they sit at the table ... who knows ... .So it can never be "Aceia" and that's why i'd always be a better translator than you and many from this site ...because translating is more than just writing words next to another ...it is about being able to link them when there is the case and to ot link themn when they are solitary lines . Btw ...i'd suggest to lower your tone once again ( i'm not tyhreathaning you or smth) but i suggest you to do so if you want to make more than a few days on this site and not being banned for your smart mouth and unsustained remarks towards comunity members . This be just the way this site goes ,others before you got to see it the hard way, and i'm just makin you a good in givin you this precious advice . Other than that ...talk through your work and provide qualitative content startin from transcriptions, to your translations than you'll have even more credibility in your sayings and most important... stopp assumin that if you see a thing impossible to be done(like translatin folk music for ex) others would see it also or would not be able to have it done ... Bye !
