According to Wikipedia it can be also considered a language of its own. If there are more texts written in it in our database we can give it its own category.

I don't think there are a lot written records of this language as the native speakers are to be found only in a few provinces of Iran. Therefore, I guess there are no other Qashqai songs on LT.
On an irrelevant note, Qashqais are famous for their rugs among other things.

https://lyricstranslate.com/en/anonim-turkey-biz-t%C3%BCrkek-biz-qa%C5%9... and I found this. Maybe I need to check but there are some songs like this that people chose their languages as Azerbaijani or Turkish while they are not completely in Azerbaijani and turkish languages which are spoken in Azerbaijan and Turkey. But as a native speaker of Azerbaijani, I understand it all like it's one of the dialects which people use in some regions of Azerbaijan.

Yes, the site does not offer " قشقایی Qashqai" as an option. It is a separate language or language variety. Qashqai people have a rich culture in Iran and of course their language is similar to other Turkic languages, but it's not Turkish. Take a look at:

I also said it. It is neither turkish nor azerbaijani. It sounds more like Azerbaijani, though. but this situation gets me confused. The language of the song is Azerbaijani (you chose so), but I'm not able to understand it because of letters, and the other turkic native speakers as well. I say, maybe I can find more songs like this which are in qashqai, but their langauage is chosen as Azerbaijani and turkish. I don't know. it gets weird.

ScieraSciera    土, 20/05/2017 - 11:01

I've now moved it into the Other category.

ScieraSciera    土, 20/05/2017 - 12:19

Sure!
If we can find one further text in this language we can give it a category.

I found these things: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/haj-ghorban-soleimani-shah-khatai-lyrics....
https://lyricstranslate.com/en/rastak-%DA%AF%D9%84-%DA%AF%D9%84-gel-gel-...
But I can't be sure whether they are in Qashqai or in Azerbaijani, because of the persian letters. and the videos are not allowed to watch in my country. So it would be fantastic if Fantsy would have a look at these songs. (I also found one more of this kind of songs, but I consider it as Azerbaijani, so I didn't mention it here)

The Rastak link is correctly marked as Azerbaijani, written in Persian script.
I'm not sure if the song by Haj Qorban Soleimani is also in Azeri, but the lyrics are OK.
None of those are Qashqai anyway.

If you're interested in Qashqai music, I've upload one for you here:
https://ufile.io/zoqp4
I don't have the lyrics though.

Well, then. As I mentioned I wasn't able to understand because of letters. And the videos weren't allowed to watch in my country. But now that I've got some questions again. :/ I mean, according you, they are almost in Azerbaijani. But if they are in Azerbaijani, wouldn't it be fantastic if they were written in Azerbaijani keyboard? Or at least English keyboard. As an Azerbaijanian, I'm not able to understand and it looks like persian to me, while it is not. Don't know, weird things.

You can add transcription requests, but since Azeris, Turks, Qashqais, and other tribes in Iran use Persian script in their writing, the originals must stay the same. You know even the current Tukrish (Latin) alphabet was part of the Ataturk reform and a move toward westernization. Azeri, too, was not always written in Latin script:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azerbaijani_alphabet

If you need to read them, then you will have to add a transcription request, then someone will write them in Latin characters for you.

I know that we used arabic script. (then cyrillic, then latin, then again cyrillic, then again latin). But I thought it would be good, if they were in Latin script, because in Azerbaijan we use it, we don't understand persian script, and if we choose the language as Azerbaijani, then we should add them how Azerbaijanians write. Cause at this case, only people who know how to read persian letters will translate it. and I don't think I need wikipedia to realize how we used to write and how we write. We learn history, as you guys do, as well. It was just a suggestion, for us to understand.

ScieraSciera    日, 21/05/2017 - 20:45

This means, lyrics should be written in the script used by native speakers of the language in question, or rather the official script of their government if applicable.
And Qashqai seems to be officially written in Persian script.

Nope, the songs ( thst I found) were in Azerbaijani. (Fantasy said so. )

ScieraSciera    日, 21/05/2017 - 21:43

Ah, I thought you were referring to the ones in Qashqai. In the case of the Azeri ones, the language seems to be written in different alphabets in different countries, so it's basically up to the uploader which version to add. Perhaps it could be made dependent on the country in which the song was written or where the artist is from. But in any case, transliterations can always be added so it's not that much if an issue which version is on the main entry.

We use Latin script. And we have a huge diaspora in Iran and I think you know about that Northern/Southern Azerbaijani. If we have a huge diaspora there and they make their songs, do you think it must be in persian script while the official script is Latin in Azerbaijan?

Dear taddy26- Please note that I or other uploaders have not changed the script of Azeri songs. That's the script native singers or speakers use to publish their lyrics here, and to them it is a better link to their past, culture and heritage. I'm not a Turk, but I have many Azerbaijani and Turkish friends, and none of them use another script to communicate with each other. As Sciera mentioned, the criteria for choosing a script is the native speakers and their government. For example, I cannot read Cyrilic that Tajik use, but I do understand the majority of the words in the language if written is Persian-Arabic script. But I cannot say that their language is originally Persian, they MUST write in Persian script. I surely love to see that happening, but politics usually takes people away from their roots and separates the nations that were once united. That is also why Persian is called Dari in Afghanistan, while it is the same language.

They use persian script, because they live in Iran. It would be meaningless if they use other script in Iran. Because persian script is the official one in Iran, I can understand it. I mean, imagine a persian lives in Azerbaijan, of course he needs to use our script, but his persian song doesn't have to be added in Azerbaijani script, just because of he lives in Azerbaijan. We should respect the script of the language. And I said nothing about Qashqai. their songs were uploaded in persian script, because they don't have their script. But we have an official script, and you should respect it when you add a song in Azerbaijani. And when you mention their past, culture and heritage, I would like to mention that we had never used persian script. We used arabic pretty years ago. and then we used cyrillic due to the USSR. And since the USSR doesn't exist anymore, we use Latin. And btw we are a tukic nation.

I don't think I've been able to communicate what I mean. This is the script they have been using for a long time. They are not part of Azerbaijan; most to them are not familiar with the new alphabet of Azerbaijan; they are Iranians. So the analogy between Azeri and Persian is wrong. While I do understand your ethnic zeal, please remember that I am not responsible for the choice Azeris in Iran have made about their communication medium! The "official" Latin script is not the official script of Azeri; it is the official script of Azeri *in Azerbaijan*. It has been the result of political decisions in that country, and the country of Azerbaijan cannot decide for all the Azeris in the world!
Meanwhile, I do not have any problems with any ethnicity, and if the Azeris in Iran decided to write in any other script, I would respect that. For the time being, you have to present your argument to them.

RadixIceRadixIce

That' what I mean. "Azerbaijani" choice is for Azerbaijanis that live in Azerbaijan and for Azerbaijanis who used to live in Northern Azerbaijan but then moved to another country. Because Azerbaijani is the official language of the government of Azerbaijan. Our script is how we communicate and we are not able to understand persian script. Peoppe in Sotluthern use persian script because they live in iran. But that's not the official one. Even when you want to translate something in google translate and you add a sentence in persian letters, it won't be translated. And btw, they speak in Tabrizi dialect while we speak shirvani one. (My aunt's husband was an Iranian Azerbaijani). But again the script of Azerbaijani is latin. Latin script is used by majority, while persian script is not. (I mean Azerbaijani people) persian.one is only used in Southern.

Hello [@RadixIce], considering that Qashqai language has been added to the site, please change the language of this song to Qashqai.
Furthermore, please change the title and its transliteration to: هلهله (Halhale)
Thanks!

Hello [@Fantasy] Please add this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw06nkVoxWA
Furthermore, please fix the title. If you don't want to remove the word "Qashqai", then please at least fix the parentheses.
Then, please change "Qashqai Turkish" to "Qashqai Turkic" and remove the other sentences in the submitter's comments.
They actually sing another stanza (the one you have written in the submitter's comments) from 4:57 to 5:21. Please add it to the lyrics section.
Thanks in advance!
