Marius Alexandru (born in Arad, Arad County) is a Romanian poet and translator who emigrated to the United States in 1997, where he currently resides in Chicago with his wife.
His passion for poetry began in childhood, and he has been writing poetry since adolescence. He is the author of several books of Romanian Christian poetry, including "Fosnetul Pasilor din Duzi" (Multimedia International Arad, 2002), "Scaldati in Susurul Bland al Harului" (Tiparnita, Arad, 2016), "Doruri Sfinte" (Monee, Illinois, 2022), as well as English-language poetry books "Ring of Fire-Poems" (Monee, Illinois, 2022), "Reflection of Thoughts" (Monee, Illinois, 2021) and many other poems about nature and love published in poetry anthologies over the years, both in Romanian and English.
His poems "Limba Mea, Limba Romana" and "In Limba Romana" are included in numerous live poetry recitals when the "Ziua Limbii Romane" (Day of the Romanian Language) is celebrated in Romania and Moldova ( August 31).
He has written over 400 haikus and is an active member of "The Haiku Foundation." He participated in the 2022 HaikuLife International Film Festival with the film "Marius Alexandru: Video Haiga." The Haiku Foundation, which honors the works of contemporary masters of the dual art of haiga (visual images linked to haiku), features his haiga gallery and recommends him as the "artist of the month" for November 2022, and January 2024.
He has rich poetry, and translation activity, both online and offline, translating over 300 poems, fables, and songs.
