My fascination with translations of songs began with Boris Grebenschikov and Akvarium. I firmly believe that a good translation must be singable, rhyming, equirhythmic and poetic. Poetic not in a sense of "deviations from the meaning of the original", but in a sense that it should read as a poem in itself without clumsy attempts to translate the original word-by-word, while losing the meaning and ruining the mood. Anything less is no better than running a text through Google translate.
