Durango is one of the 31 states which make up the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico, situated in the northwest of the country.The capital city, Victoria de Durango, is named after the first President of Mexico, Guadalupe Victoria.
Fandango is a lively couples dance originating from Portugal and Spain, usually in triple metre, traditionally accompanied by guitars, castanets, or hand-clapping. Fandango can both be sung and danced.
Francisco "Pancho" Villa (1878 – 1923) was initially a bandit, who became a general in the Mexican Revolution. He was a key figure in the revolutionary violence that forced out President Porfirio Díaz and brought Francisco I. Madero to power in 1911.
Torreón is a city and seat of Torreón Municipality in the Mexican state of Coahuila. During the Mexican Revolution (1910–1920), the city was taken more than once; the most prominent character ever to take the city was the revolutionary general Pancho Villa.
