Mina – "Mina Live '78" (1978)

Mina Live '78 is the third and last live album by the Italian singer Mina, recorded on the 23rd of August 1978 and released as a double LP and cassette tape in October of the same year by PDU.

It consists of 15 tracks (20 songs in total, including the medley ones), all of which were arranged by Pino Presti. Some of the songs have no studio versions and were performed at that concert only. Others of them that were included in previous albums with the default video being the studio version will have the live version in the description of the corresponding song.

The recording took place at the then called "Bussoladomani" theatre (currently "Bussola Versilia"), where a lot of famous Italian singers have performed throughout the years. A tour was planned for the summer of 1978 with 15 concerts in total and the last one of them was intended to be recorded and broadcasted on TV, but due to a pulmonary infection, Mina held only 11 of them, the last one happening to be held on the 23rd of August. As a result, the album Mina Live '78 was released in October, which resulted in being the singer's last live album.

Although she put her concert activity to an end ever since, she continued to release albums up to this day on a yearly basis (the double albums period spanned from 1973 to 1995, the last of them being Pappa di latte). From 2000 onward, she went on several hiatuses spanning from one to four years at most.

Ma figurati! There was no way I could miss commemorating it in some way, it's truly an important event for i mazziniani like us. Especially to me, because after that concert was only the beginning of my most favourite period of her career. :)
