Hi Igor,
As usual I do things in the wrong order. I have almost finished describing my proficiency in Polish and promising my help.
Then I looked at the link and swore loudly. With my hearing even the best recording will get me confused. The original song is named "URI" and written by Rachel, very touching and known to many. I believe there is nothing there that I couldn’t handle except the basic – hearing the words. Of course, Hebrew words are no problem. I looked up Polish publications hoping for the Polish words but ...nada. Do you know if something exists?
I’ll try (but tomorrow, I mean today during the day) the UTube but I don’t have great hopes, perhaps tracing on more Polish sites
Really sorry, wanted it as a peace offering

Agnieszka will say the same, unfortunately: it's almost impossible to understand anything. I'm not sure whether it's about the quality of the recording. It's rather AMJ's way of singing, where words sometimes get lost in a whisper. Definitely finding a reliable transcription would be crucial. I don't transcribe also because my listening skills are way below the average even for my age group.
BTW, notifications don't reach me, I don't know why. I don't remember disabling them.
Agnieszka, thanks for looking into this. It's probably a combination of AMJ's manner of singing and the bad audio quality.
> notifications don't reach me
I have a strong suspicion that direct notifications put into the submitter's comments ( as opposed to the regular ones) don't work - a bug.
Israel, I think, came here by a direct link from another thread.
I'll test my hypothesis today and let everybody know. Thanks again
I'll try looking for it on Hebrew sites. Perhaps there is some text from the performance.
If not, I'll just translate the original into Polish, both for Agnieszka and you. However, you both know me, it will be faithful to the original, with luck partly rhyming (or not), definitely not singable and/or the whole soup of the letters (it's my envy talking :-)
Oh Agnieszka, thanks again for trying, and please don't worry about it. I don't think there's anything on the web. I think somebody quickly ( as we say in Russian "На коленке") put together a text for her to sing and it was a one-time affair. I imagine a funny scenario: I write to AMJ and she responds but she didn't keep the written text, and she herself can't make out the words she was singing :-)
Guys, thank you for your contibution to this amazing song based on amazing poem. I can't help crying listening to Chava Alberstein version...
I enclose Polish lyrics. Only doubtful lines are in brackets, but I'm pretty sure that it is correct.
Gdyby mi cudem urodził się syn
Światło ze światła, krew z krwi
Schowałabym dłoń (w jego maleńką dłoń) (i hen...)
Wędrowałabym zawsze już z nim
Uri mój mały, Uri mój syn
Imię Twe słodkie, bo miłość w nim brzmi
Kiedyś zawołam, zawołam co sił
Uri mój syn, Uri mój syn
Wyczekam go jak Rachela
Wymodlę mocno jak Hana w Szilo
Aby przyszedł, (udany był)
Aby przyszedł...
Anna's version is nice, but not close enough to original in my opinion, nothing about שחור תלתלים :)
Please add Chava Alberstein to "Also performed by" as well, entitled "עקרה" in her interpretation.
Hi Harden, thanks for your contribution. I just removed the parenthesis and put it up there.
On a different subject. Since you did a translation of Tzila Dagan's rendition of Eli. Eli, you may find this interesting

Hi Asagi,
thanks again for your contribution. I think you are absolutely correct. Even though my Polish is almost nonexistent I can hear "tak" and I think I can hear synek even though the similar word in Russian - сынок - has the second syllable stressed :)
I'll make the corrections you suggested.

Poland has many great singers but nobody represents Poland on the world's stage better than the beautiful and talented Anna Maria Jopek. She accumulated an impressive list of performances in collaboration with jazz world greats like Branford Marsalis, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Makoto Ozone, Pat Metheny and others.
Here we have a musical date between AMJ and the Israeli singer Noa who is also famous for her international collaborations ( e.g. with Massimo Ranieri -https://lyricstranslate.com/en/massimo-ranieri-dicitencello-vuie-lyrics.... )
The concert takes place in the small town of Zichron Yakov in Northern Israel which I drive through every time I am in Israel. Small world.
Noa and AMJ sing Noa's song "Uri" and apparently the Polish lyrics were written specifically for this performance. It would be good if somebody transcribed it though the audio quality is not that great. Thanks.
