Deanna, thank you for your translation. I'd title it "Вальс для Парижа" - more natural - and I'd have everything in Russian
2. I hated it - меня это раздражало
Many thanks! It didn't feel quite right...lol
did I fix it correctly?
Oh, boy. I did not mean to convey this!
If you look at the video, she is wearing a ring so perhaps they are married. And he is violent - no ambiguity there.
Regardless, it is great when a song makes us think, no?
I was worried you will take it that he will end up poisoning her with oleander. That sure will get a storm and sentencing. Lol, I sure am glad they seem to have it worked out as I imagine she sings for the girl. Lol
N, take a look at the video
Это ничего - я перевела "Начало приговора" как "начало предложения" - time for language goof...lol

Parmi des peintures de Rembrandt
Il y a que tes cauchemars, Baby

J'ai tout vu (I have seen everything)
Il y a (There is)

I left French as it adds a flavor?
I didn't realize that I can't keep French. Funny, I thought red here meant he does not like her to stand out (reacts like a bull to it) - not anything else. Thanks for everyone's input - needed it!
I think N meant red as red lights, like a prostitution symbol, though I disagree, mainly because it is in English, not French :)
That also didn't occur to me - red lights I'd think this would be Amsterdam?
Great, my husband just clarified red-light district is universal...so...still not for this song. Lol
It also might be something about moulin rouge or something about French Revolution, but to me - if they hate the color their significant one is wearing - it’s a call for a break up
How is it from a girl's perspective? It is all from his perspective, no? I was sitting - you in my lap, etc.
nah, just sitting in his lap, lips locked. If only she didn't wear red or talked... Lol
[@crazylove] How can you like the opposite points of view? Leave me a note on what you think rather than a like for every opinion.
Aghhh. We can wear red and unless it's lingerie, it's not meant as seduction... Red sweater, coat, dress aren't vulgar unless snobs look for the designer label. At any case, the fact he hates it, indicates he is out of order in more ways than one.
We seemed to have exhausted the various ways to interprete this song unless we move into to revolutionary and guillotine meanings. Lol
Anyway, I type faster in English and so this story goes:
I found a trip from New York to Paris over thanksgiving for practically nothing and talked our small office into going there together. When we told our NY boss that PA office will be closed for ONE day, he asked in an apparent shock: closed? I spoke for my boss (I can imitate her voice and Russian accent. Lol) that we worked every holiday that year and yes, we will be off one extra day - and we all flew to Paris. Six of us, only my husband an American Italian - the rest Russians, went together to Montmartre. An extremely untalented street artist made a portrait of my friend that was a blend of her and my face. I told her that she shouldn't pay because it was just too weird. At this time, the rest of our group joined us and to my abject horror, the "artist" shouted at my poor husband that he knows him as a Jew from Tel Aviv while he was telling me to buy the darn picture... Lol
Now, I am unsure if he was that untalented, rude - certainly, because our recently retired boss called my friend and I the two-headed dragon. Lol.
I am planning a trip to Paris, so:
What else to know for Dummies in France???
It is breathtaking. You won't have a moment to check a list. Take tons of pictures.
