You are not right. Please compare the wordings. He made neither a correct translation nor added the correct wordings of the song.
Hi. I don't know enough French to say if the translation is good. As for the song lyrics, I have compared both. The only issue here is how they organized verses and stanzas. There's no major difference from what you added to what they added. We often leave the oldest (original) entry when dealing with duplicates. And as they added the lyrics first (even though they did so as a translation) that's why I asked.
Please read carefully 😱 and see also the source mentioned
Jadis escreveu:This is not a translation of "Try to remember", it is a French version, the lyrics are different, although on the same theme. And this is how Nana Mouskouri sings it.
Indeed, Thank you
Guys, it seems I haven't understood the issue around here.
What I'm saying is that someone had added these lyrics as a translation sometime ago. So, that being the oldest entry, it should be added as lyrics over this one - which would be a duplicate. I have even compared both entries to check if there were really any differences that would justify that entry being unpublished, not this one, and found none - there are only some issues regarding how verses and stanzas were arranged, but nothing out of the ordinary. The same works for the source stated here. There's no reason, based on this fact, to justify me removing Eugene's submission - and not mention them anywhere around this page.
Am I missing something?
Hi,
Eugene-Chiayinickh doesn't made a right translation (simply it's not a tranlation) by the english version, alain chevalier yes he made a translation
so they are not the same songs.english and french song
So I think this version is interessant in a structure with interesting metafore
I can try to traduce in english and you can saw better the difference but I'm afraid my english is very bad
No problem, I could get what you meant. Your English is fine.
The issue, which I have already said, is not that about the translation. It's because Eugene added a song's lyrics as a translation. And those lyrics have no major difference in comparison with this entry, which was correctly added as lyrics. Eugene's entry, the oldest, would be removed and given a proper entry as a song's lyrics - and as this entry would become a duplicate, it will be removed. That's just about it.
There is also one spelling mistake
What I've been trying to say is exactly this. Their submission will be removed and added as lyrics - and as this will result in a duplicate (this page here), it will also be removed. That's exactly what we do in said situations, I really do not understand what's the fuss about.
Je me suis trompé. J'avais d'abord utilisé les paroles publiées par Eugene mais j'avais pensé qu'ils seraient différentes de celles chantées dans le vidéo. C'est pour ca que je prenais celles der paroles2chansons.
So do what you want.
I'd prefer if you spoke in a language I understand.
Yes, I have changed the authorship - as we would normally do. I haven't understood yet why you are so angry about a very simple issue. If there was a typo in the lyrics, you simply should come and tell us, so we would come and correct. Instead, you added a new entry, and didn't like it when I told you you were wrong and that your entry would be removed as, when either me or another Mod came and corrected Eugene's submission your entry would be a duplicate. I have tried to tell you that for a long time. If you're in discordance with me, fine, I'll remove this entry now and republish Eugene's one, but correctly, as lyrics. With his typo.
You don't understand not even french, as you wrote
And that is a problem because of? Please understand that since it all started you were wrong as you didn't wait for Mods to act and did what you wanted to do - and now you're saying that I've offended you by changing this entry's authorship.
I don't have to know a language in order to merge and move content (it's in our Moderator guidelines, just for you to know). It'd be a problem if I dared to change things written in the lyrics without consulting anyone - by the way, you only pointed out that there was a mistake in Eugene's submission, but never cared to point out a suggestion of correction, which we would gladly do. Your resulting duplicate was removed following what's been set for us to follow (a translation that was added to your entry has been even moved to this one) - if you're not happy with it, sorry, but I can't do anything about it.
What did you start? Nothing! Until I wrote a comment under the false translation that this is the wording of Mouskouri's french version. Beforehand you were even not able to verify resp understand the source given by the "translator". Only when I draw your attention by my comment you began to act without giving the rule which allows to act in this way and putting the name of the "translator" under the Text I have published (now corrected).
I will ask the dministrators If this was correct.
