Its beauty

Here now my stranded body
One hour more and I'll get up.
Here lies my still body
enjoying the island's dawn.

Don't know anymore how I got here
Has there been a world before?
I don't remember
don't know anymore, and yet my mouth, full with sand- whom should he ask at all?
I'm all alone here.

I explored the island and wrecked ev'rything
It was all so easy,
as I was playing on my own
I explored the island and wrecked ev'rything
It was all so fragile
so I was sure to win...

Ow
This is my land
This is my land
My land and its beauty

Ow
(This is my land, it's my land)
This is my land
(This is my land, it's my land)
This is my land
(This is my land, it's my land)
My land and its beauty

Now here my body is standing
Only one hour ago I still crawled on my knees
And here now my body is shaking
breathing as hard as a sun in its zenith

I don't know how to tell you the joy of eating and drinking so boundlessly
Don't know anymore and then, my mouth being full of fish, after this blessed day, doesn't say nothing again
I explored the island and wrecked ev'rything
It was all so easy,
playing on my own
I explored the island and wrecked ev'rything
It was all so fragile
I was sure I would win...

Ow
(This is my land, it's my land)
This is my land
(This is my land, it's my land)
This is my land
(This is my land, it's my land)
My land and its beauty

Ow
(This is my land, it's my land)
This is my land
(This is my land, it's my land)
This is my land
(This is my land, it's my land)
My land and its beauty

I don't remember it now, but then ev'rything happened so fast
I drank and grabbed every thing
Without thinking of what might come
I do not know anymore and then my mouth being full of ashes
stays speechless, gaping in front of the great fire

Ow
This is my land
This is my land
My land and its beauty

Ow
This is my land
This is my land
My land and its beauty

Ow
(This is my land, it's my land)
This is my land
(This is my land, it's my land)
This is my land
(This is my land, it's my land)
My land and its beauty

Bedankt!

Voilà mon corps échoué -> my body is/lies stranded/beached now

qui ne quitte l'aurore sur l'île -> that won't leave dawn on the island (whatever that might mean)

Y a-t-il eu un avant ? -> was there a (time) before? (as if she had been there for all eternity)

-> and besides, whom would my sand-filled mouth ask?

Je suis seul à ma table -> I eat alone ("I sit alone at my (dinner) table")

j'ai tout saccagé -> no "got" (he/she wrecked everything)

j'étais sûr de gagner -> I was sure I would win

slhaking -> typo

I'd drunken -> I drank (or "I would drink" maybe)

Дорогой silenced,

just a few words for now, as it's getting too late for me.

But as you were so eager to critice several things, I'm willing to explain you that here in my last try I translated the words and sentences in a bit metaphorical way -, so what you liked to change, p.e.: 'je suis seule à ma table' --' that means that she IS all alone on the entire island, that she can now take possession of the land, that it's her territory.... and that there is no one to ask anything....

So I still find it very adequate to translate it like that - ou est-ce que tu crois que je ne comprend la simple prase: "être à la table?"?? ;-)

And you begin directly with: 'my body lies here stranded' ---- what ELSE did I write??

Y concernant: 'j'etais sûr de gagner' ---
At first I did simply translate it with: sure to win, but I felt it to be too poor, you know what I mean -- I really wanted to find another word than win - I also thought about 'to master' or to 'control', s.th. like this.

And the word 'tyro' instead or for 'shaken' - well, this I don't understand at all, don't even know the word, I have to admit...
You could explain to me that, if you want.

But where I give in is, that I really did not realize, que: ' Y a-t-il eu un avant ? veut dire

Et j'ai aussi pensé sur "having wrecked" instead of ransacked.... but is ransack really so terribly wrong, or just falsely placed?

Meilleures salutations,
C.

These remarks were not meant as criticisms. I'm a French native so I can point out some slight differences in meaning.

"typo" just means "misspelling": an extra "l" in "shaking"

In my opinion these lyrics are poorly written, so I would rather not try to prettify the English. You can of course interpret the French (like "seul(e) à ma table" or "qui ne quitte pas l'aurore...") but to be honest, even as a native speaker, I don't know what these awkward metaphors mean Regular smile
