re: Manu Chao
I know the translation from Spanish to English for the following phrase, but what is the SIGNIFANCE of the phrase? Is it Spanish slang? What is the context? How is it used?
... aquí no pegamos los ojos ...
English is my native language, but I am learning Spanish.
Muchas gracias.

Right now, the only context I can think of to use that phrase would be to mean "We never sleep here".
"Pegar el ojo" or "Pegar la pestaña" are very colloquial phrases to refer to the action of sleeping.
If you see something like: "No pegué el ojo en toda la noche" it means the person didn't get a blink of sleep.
I think that's the most common use but I'm never sure with Manu Chao.
Maybe refers to be on the alert for her not to leave .
My thanks to ALL people who help me with Manu Chao translations.
