According to Th.H. Johnson's "The Poems of Emily Dickinson. Including variant readings critically compared with all known manuscripts" (Vol. II, 1955), the 1859 version may be the earlier version of this poem printed in his "The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson" as poem 903. He also notes that Emily was in the habit of sending flowers with notes in verse, so it's possible that that version may be an earlier version of this one or may be one of many poems sent to other people with flowers.
