Let It Go songtekst

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation,
And it looks like I’m the Queen.
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn’t keep it in, heaven knows I tried

Don’t let them in, don’t let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know
Well, now they know

Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don’t care what they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway

It’s funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can’t get to me at all

It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I’m free

Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You’ll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I'll stay
Let the storm rage on

My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back,
The past is in the past

Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway

This is not a Chinese-language song or a song written by a Chinese person.

No, please don't do this. It is Indina Menzel who won the Oscar for this song, not Demi. Leave the song here, it is not the first song that is posted on this site with different versions.

ScieraSciera    Vrij, 14/03/2014 - 19:28

Well, do the lyrics here reflect an existing version of the song?
And who cares who won an Oscar?

Yeah, and who cares about Semi or what's her name ?
Leave this version here, I'll take a look at it and I'll correct it later. The song is sung by Idina Menzel, that's her voice in the film and she is the one who sung it in the first place. But I don't mind if you delete Semi's version.

The lyrics here are so close to the ones by Demi Lovato that it's much more reasonable to move the translations added to this entry to the entry of Demi Lovato. It's much less effort than asking all translators to completely change their translations.

And btw, I listened to both versions and I also prefer the one by Idina Menzel (and it was probably the first time that I listened to a song by any of these two singers). But this isn't about which one is better but about what makes less efforts.

My opinion is - this is about people searching for and finding lyrics and their translations. Personally, I hadn't listened to many original songs before I listened to some of their covers. So having multiple versions does not hurt at all. On the contrary, it helps people find the songs they were looking for. So I go for multiplicity or whatever that is called, not for removing one or another version.

ScieraSciera    Vrij, 14/03/2014 - 20:14

It's not about deleting one version. Just, this entry has the lyrics of the other version which is why I've asked the admins to merge it with the entry of the other version, and added an entry with the correct lyrics of this version.

Why didn't you just edit this version? Anyway, I edited it and I'll let the other translators know about the changes.

ScieraSciera    Vrij, 14/03/2014 - 20:19

I thought about that possibility and decided that it's much more reasonable to let the admins merge the entries instead because it makes less effort for the translators, as I already told you.

Please undo what you did, delete the comment in the mod room, delete your entry and let me take care of this, it's my mistake and I'll take care of it.

ScieraSciera    Vrij, 14/03/2014 - 20:40

My entry already has a translation to it (not by me).
Well, it is your entry here, so well, if you insist, take care of it yourself.
I'll edit my comment in the mods room, asking them to merge my entry with this one then.

CalusarulCalusarul    Vrij, 14/03/2014 - 20:58

We've already discussed this many times, also with the admins. The lyrics of a song only occupy a few kB or even less, so this is not a question of lack of space on the server. Then imagine you listen to a song on the radio in the bus, and you don't get the title or the singer, neither some unique lyrics, so you'll have to search for it... Never mind. I don't care. I'm out.

ScieraSciera    Vrij, 14/03/2014 - 21:11

I have no idea what you're talking about. As I said before, I never asked for any of the versions to be removed, I just wanted one entry with wrong lyrics to be replaced with one with correct ones.

CalusarulCalusarul    Vrij, 14/03/2014 - 21:13

That's what editors are for - to correct the mistakes (not in translations). :P
(I'm an editor)

ScieraSciera    Vrij, 14/03/2014 - 21:16

Well, I guess we mods can do that, too.
The lyrics are already corrected now, though, so no work for you xP

CalusarulCalusarul    Vrij, 14/03/2014 - 21:22

Well then - let's stick to correcting the lyrics and not writing sausages comments here - all three of us ;)

I added the names of (some of) the artists who covered this song.
