Narcos songtekst
- Trapping like the narco (narco)
Got dope like ...:
A “narco” is a person involved in organized crime or illegal narcotic trade. “Trapping” is a slang word used to describe the action of selling drugs. Pablo Escobar, a notorious drug lord often referred to as “The King of Cocaine,” was the wealthiest criminal in history with a net worth of $30 billion until his death in 1993.
In addition to his wealth, Escobar was known to be a brutal narco-terrorist who didn’t hesitate to carry out attacks and kill anyone who disobeyed him. He lead the Los Extraditables, who were a violent criminal gang. Pablo is also the main antagonist in Netflix’s critically acclaimed TV show Narcos, which seems to be the main inspiration for this song.
- Diego (Diego):
“Diego” is a reference to Diego Maradona, an Argentine footballing legend who was addicted to cocaine from the mid-1980s to 2004. The name is now used interchangeably as a nickname for cocaine.

“Hasta luego” means “See you later” in Spanish.
- Snub nose with potatoes:
A “snub nose” is a .38 revolver with a two inch or shorter barrel. The best example is the Colt Detective Special.
A potato can be used as a silencer by placing one on the barrel of the gun.
- Woo, bricks in the brick house (yeah)
Use to hit ...:
“Bricks” means a kilo of cocaine and “hitting a lick” means making a lot of money in a short amount of time.
- We pick up the hundos (hundos)
Then drop them off ...:
Huncho is Quavo’s nickname and is half of the title of the collaboration album he did with Travis Scott titled Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho. “Hundos” refers to hundreds (perhaps thousands) of dollars that the Migos are collecting.
- Static, nigga turn to mean about the cabbage (uh):
“Cabbage” means money—Takeoff feels like people turn mean or greedy when it’s about the money.
- This real rap, no mumble:
“Mumble Rap” was first coined by Wiz Khalifa in 2016. It’s used to describe raps featuring heavy autotune and little lyrical substance.
Migos claim their lyrics are on par with that of “real rap.”
- My skin black like mamba:
The Black Mamba is one of the world’s deadliest snakes—just 2 drops of their venom can kill a human in as little as 20 minutes.
- I came from the bando (bando, beep beep):
A “bando” is an abandoned house, often where drugs are sold and made. Migos experienced trap houses the drug trade growing up on the north side of Atlanta.
- I just put a pack on the way to Bogota (pack):
Takeoff is referring to sending a pack of cocaine (possibly on a plane) to the capital of Colombia, Bogota.
- 10 mil' on a plane, going straight to ...:
Medellin is the second largest city in Colombia. Like Honduras and Tijuana mentioned earlier, it too had a ruthless cartel organization in the 1970s and 80s. Famous figures like Pablo Escobar founded the cartel and smuggled drugs into surrounding countries, especially the United States.
